My first sale on etsy! wohoo! ^o^

Today me so happy!
after waiting for 1 month finally i make a sale! For all etsy member or other online seller (ebay,ecrater,...u name it) i wish you all got many bless and sales! don't give up on your business and keep promote and build networking, sales will come : )
if you read this thread on etsy http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5532014&page=8 you could read many experience among sellers about how long before they sold their first item. You will see that it very variant on timing, some could sale only within 1 day and some could sale after 3 or 4 months in waiting _

Congratulations. WHat is the name of your shop?
I just got started this weekend on Etsy. So, I still have my first sale to look forward to.

Yay! Good for you! It's a great feeling, isn't it? I think my first sale came a little more than 2 weeks after I started and I still remember the feeling of getting the email notice of a sale.
Self promoting is the key on Etsy. There are so many shops on the site and they tend to get overwhelmed by the size of the site and quite often (the newer members) don't know how to search for what they really want (or don't really know what they want) and end up looking in the promotions forum for ideas.
I'm positive that at least 75%-85% of my sales have come from promoting in the forum and I have sold to so many buyers with less than 3 feedbacks (which to me indicate they are not up to speed using the search features on the site)sometimes they end up buying something I didn't promote, but they found my shop in the forums and found something else they wanted more.

It took me far longer to get my first sell there but I agree keep at it. I need to promote more is what my problem is that and I need to keep listing frequently.
