I also a smoker but successfully quit it. My mother really hate it and when she discover me, she get mad at me but i didn't stop. It was six years in it. When i finish my school days, i stay at my mom's house, i didn't quit because of that. I quit because i easily feel tired when doing some exercise or going at the gym. A friend of mine tell me that smoking makes me feel tired easily while exercising. I just thought so and stop. I really did. Then get into pregnancy. Until now, i am not smoking and i feel that i already quit it.
I have found that, it's all about self discipline and motivation to quit. I also use my family as inspiration. I am glad . hope you can!!!

You have to have the want to and will power to quit. It will be hard but you can do it. I have responded to this question before and if you will look in my discussions I have responded to you will get some hints and help. I am sorry that I don't want to retype the answers but it is a long post and takes a while. I wish I could copy and paste it here for you but it won't let me. Best of luck to you.

First of all, congrats for taking the first step.
I think this has to be a systematic process. You cannot expect to stop smoking overnight.
1) Set achievable goals of smoking lesser every week
2) Keep yourself extremely busy with things you enjoy doing
3) Eat sweets or candy to keep your mouth occupied =p
3) Picture yourself already successfully quit smoking
