The C language has been used by most of us for understanding the basics of programming. We've used it to know how to interact with the hardware. It has been used to develop so many softwares, including GUI-based, ofcourse. But, I feel the power, the strength it used to have in the past is being lost somewhere in the flood of languages being developed day-by-day!!
What all do you people have to say about it??

yes C language is becoming obsolete nowadays because of more portable programming languages like JAVA and PHP..
whatever happens, C will always be C. The C that starts it all hehehe,,
all new languages are all based from previous languages right?

C language has it's own advantage. It's very sparing on the machine's resources. There is practically nothing that you cannot do with C. It's very important for every programmer to be able to program in C.
