When I was in grade school we were taught both at home and at school to speak only when spoken to. When I got into high school, they wanted us to get up and speak in front of the class and be creative. I wasn't very good at this. When I was about 30 I did retrain myself, or gradually through the years, because I ended up being a success in sales. I only went to one schoo K-8 and on high school. Band, basketball and running were my main activities.

Isn't it interesting how society puts one set of rules for young people, and then they are expected to jump right into adulthood with an entire set of rules?
