My kids recently started attending Sylvan Learning, I am wondering if there are other parents here who have children that attend there and if so, what is your opinion of them? how are things going with them? big changes, no changes?
any thing you would be kind enough to share would be so appreciated.
I am really hoping to see a big difference with my kids.
I don't ever hear from other parents who use them, I really have only seen their own commercials so it would be great to hear from some people who actually have some experience with them.
Thank you!

One of my very good friends daughter attended Sylvan every Saturday. She was about 14/15 years old when she started and she improved tremendously her grade jumped from C's to B+ and a couple of As. She eventually graduated with honors and my friend said it was the best money she ever spent.

That is really great to hear!
Thank you so much for sharing that.
I really hope that in this next conference I go to that there is a big difference from when they were tested when they first started.
My oldest has so much trouble with reading and I just pray that this helps him to catch up, or even go beyond his grade level.

Thank your for BR. BTW my friend's daughter, Marissa, also had reading troubles. Perhaps because she comes from a bilingual family, who knows, anyway that problem has been solved.

Wow, thats great!
I would love for the program to work just as well for my children.
I'm excited to watch them learn and grow from it.
it would just be awesome :)
Thanks so much for your input.

I have thought about sending my youngest daughter there as she seems to just struggle year after year with reading and math. We are a home school family and I am not sure if she has a learning disability or not but I think that she needs more one on one time that isn't mom as teacher.
However, I thought that they were a little expensive. I find that the money keeps me from sending her.

yes, I do think it is pretty expensive. for 40 hours is a little over $1500!
they have been going now for a little over a month, they seem to like it pretty well. they are also struggling in math and reading, so far I am not really sure how much their actually getting from it.
they do have monthly conferences, my second conference is set for Thursday so I'll be able to see how far they have come since they started.
I think I'm getting a little aggravated with the center though, they promise to call and do reminders for the appointments, so far I have received NO calls.
we have not missed them but still it would be nice because when your just starting and schedules are so crazy around here a reminder would be nice, we have came pretty close to forgetting one.
then today I get a phone call saying "Sorry we have to reschedule the conference that was set for tonight"
they never even told me about the conference in the first place! so I am a little unhappy as far as those things go, but hopefully my children get some great help from it.
Thank you for your response :)

i suggest that personally take you small kid to the forest to learn somthing, i think sometimes someone use the parent's trend for commercial purpose.
so , don't afraid trouble do it by yourself tha't the best way.
