I make a great cinder toffee icecream without using an ice cream maker.
The ice cream is mainly condensed milk and double cream which has been whipped until very thick. Add the cindered toffee and shove in the freezer overnight to set. It is seriously delicious.

A friend of mine makes delicious home made ice cream without the aid of an ice cream maker. She does an absolutely gorgeous lime flavoured one when the limes are in season. I think the trick is to whisk the mixture well to ensure it contains plenty of air. I've never tried it myself though.

Usually, if you don't stir the ice cream often enough, it doesn't come out very creamy. I know there are recipes for making ice cream without an ice cream maker, but they have to be stirred often while they are setting. That's the beauty of an ice cream maker, they keep stirring without you having to do so.
The only time ice cream came out right without an ice cream maker for me was when I used ice cream that was already made and I mixed something into it while it was still soft before refreezing it.

I remember Myself and my family members tried to make it when i was very young. I quite could not remember the taste. but it is a good experience upfront. We tried to make purely with sugar and milk i believe and it turned out be a good one. dont ask me the taste though

Well personally, no. My mum once made one though but it took quite alot of work! She blended the mixture everyday and then always had to put it back to freeze up. I really didn't like it that much cause it wasn't creamy as I expected it to be. She made a coconut flavour and chocolate flavour.
I want to make my own homemade ice cream but I am saving up for a ice cream maker.
A question for those of you that did make ice cream without one.
Can you "whisk" it by using an electric mixer and does it come out creamy in texture?
If so, I just may look for a recipe and try it.
