Would you let a stranger watch your child?

Just curious what your opinion is on this subject. My sister refuses to put her kids in daycare or let anyone she doesn't know watch her kids.

No. When my oldest son went to nursery, he only went half days to start with but that wasn't too bad because we'd met his teacher first and she was nice so that was fine. I still sometimes worry about him at school! I think I'm a bit less "clingy" with my second, I have thought about sending him to a nursery once or twice a week when he is two. I would never have done that with my first. He was nearly 4 when he started nursery. But even with my baby, I already go to playgroups run by the nursery I would send him to so I already know most of the people there quite well. I think your sister has done the right thing. It's better in every possible way for the children to be with her or with someone she knows and trusts.

oh absolutely not. Even in a day care you can go meet the workers to helpl you feel more secure. Do remember that just because workers have a back ground check done on them, it doesn't make them ok to be with your child. It has gotten really sad the past years.

No,definetly not. I wouldn't trust a stranger with my kids. I hardly ever have anyone watch my kids anyways but when I do its my mom and thats it. With this world the way it is I just couldn't and would not do that.

It depends upon the individual abilit how he copes with the sitation. If the child feels uncomfortable in the day care don't send them to day care.

This world is too dangerous of a place now to leave your children with a stranger. I know that some people have to use daycare and I hope that they only do it after extensive research and observation.

No, I would not let a stranger watch my child. My children never went to daycare. I never let anyone I didn't know very well be alone with my children at all.

I applaud your sister . You can never be too careful with your children. They are the only ones you have, don't take chances with them. You don't get replacements.

I hope I would never have to resort to that! If I did work outside the home I would arrange for family to watch them. If no family and I had no choice I would do a LOT of research on the Day Care and make sure I could stop by ANYTIME.. wow I dont like the idea myself.. :/
