So, I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child, have just started maternity leave as I no longer fit under the desk at work... I feel like I should be making the most of my freedom but I really have no idea what to do in my spare time!!

Hi im mum of 5 so had plenty of practise, love my kids so much but lots of hard work too.rest as much as you can because new borns need lots of feeding as you know and the first year is tough and no 2 babies are the same.you say you have a child already do as much as you can together because big changes are on their way for all of you. have lots of fun together and laugh lots because he/she has had you all to themselves and now he/she will have to share you with another baby and this can be difficult for the child, my kids found it hard all in differt ways and they all loved their new brother or sister but they all still needed reasuring that they were still special and loved very much.Good luck with your new baby coming soon im sure your going to be fine but please rest and just enjoy your time with your family even though the waddling stage is so uncomfotable.god bless kila

Thanks again for advice, I must say though that I'm prob more likely to e the one left out lol. My daughter adores babies, Every time I go to picl her up from nursery she's just gotten a baby to sleep by bouncing their chair or stroking their face...she's a little mummy in the making and loves to help with everything which means I can include her by letting her help pass me nappies etc. 5 kids! Wow, u must have so much energy!!

I get fed up with being indoors all the time...especially knowing I'll prob be stuck indoors a lot with 2 kiddies under age of 2...but thanks, I may try to improve on my cooking, it honestly couldn't get any worse! : )

Girl!!! First off congrats! I think if it was me i'd totally mall it up! Go shopping, have a decaf startbucks adventure. Maybe go to a near by park with the kiddo and waddle around with the ducks. Have a Target adventure just to peruse the store, play in the toy section. Maybe even take a cooking class at a local college!

Congrads!! I agree I would mall it up, or go shopping anywhere. You don't have to buy stuff just get out and about some. I know from experience that those days will be few when that little one comes along. I'm still in that situation myself. I have a 2 yr old and a 5 month old that doesn't like to go places, plus going places is such a chore sometimes with two in diapers and needing changes of clothes, but I'm just now finally starting to get to go shopping and get out. Thank goodness too our weather is getting better so I can at least just go outside with them. My advice is to get out and about as much as you can now, because who knows for sure how much of that you'll get to do once that baby is here. Good Luck to you!

Congrats! Now for time being I would suggest to involve yourself in constructive and innovative work that don't require any physical work. Be happy all the time, good diet and listening to good music and yes little simple excersice will do. And be ready for d-day. Best of luck!

well enjoy your freedom now while you still got it, in 10 weeks time or so that time will be severly cut down, lol, maybe spend as much time with your 1 child now because when the baby comes the focus maybe on that one and your first child may feel left out

u could call a few friends and have lunch with them on their lunch hour or go sit at the park and take a nice book along and find a nice shady tree with a bench under it
