help!!! How to limit the download speed??

I juz bought a Dlink dsl 2640t all in one modem...but recently my housemate juz keep download and made our surf speed bcome slow...i know tat ther is a way to set a limitation to limit the download speed for each pc. But i duno hw to do it.. can anyone help?? they are using wireless connection....thx

I would ask your housemate to fileshare only at night when others don't need to use the computer. It is a reasonable request.

Why not try to contact your internet service provider(ISP) ? I think he is right one to help you. Is your connection a dial -up one or through cable. Cable means ISP would help definitely. Because passwords etc will be with him only. or search answer for your question through search engines,In our office there will be a person sitting near the server. he would do all sorts of things like connect or to disconnect a computer to internet.

Depending on the router you are using, you can set up limits on the bandwidth used. I think it can be set up by ip address of the users on your internal network.

im using dsl 2640t all in one modem, then how to set up the limit on bandwidth? i ever heard people set the limit for QoS, but i nt sure it can be used for wireless connection or not. QoS can set by ip add and mac add from port but duno weither can set from wireless or not.
