I don't think you can compare Kobe and Shaq at all, When Shaq was in LA with Kobe there was no doubt who carried that team, it was Shaq by far, you swap out shaq for another big man and Kobe would not have been able to carry the load back then, Shaq gave Kobe so much room in the lane and opened shots for guys like Brian Shaw,Rick Fox,Ron Harper and other lower likes making them good, Shaq comes to Miami and instantly they are a contender and make the conference Finals 1 game off the Finals, next year they win it all, now Shaq at this point is in the downfall of his career as big men usually slow down quicker then guys like Kobe but no doubt without him the Heat would not have won the Championship, now in Phoenix, the Suns were good before but need the Post Season Center who can dominate if need be and you cannot argue that Shaq being there has not made Amare better, he is not there to lead the team but help win and Shaq has been putting up better numbers than with Miami and I see the Suns at making a Championship run this year, Kobe well he will be lucky if he wins a Championship without Shaq
