Prosper.com is a new website as of February that takes the concept of peer to peer one step further by adding money. Money, some people have it others need it. What a concept.
I became a lender on Prosper in June, then found myself needing to borrow some money in July. It has been quite an experience so far. There have been some whom have lost money and other who have gained. It is still young and developing but it has alot of potential. I have invested a few hundred so far and am currently earning 20% interest.
Just curious who else has heard of it.

I'm glad you decided to come over and check out Mylot, scrubradio. I guess we'll have to both get busy to work all the way up to a bid, but every little bit counts. :)

I think of it this way. Prosper is earning about 25 cents a day for me and growing. MyLot made me 4 cents yesterday. Both kept me out of trouble as well as kept me from spending more money. If I am not spending money then I am earning it.

All you need is a valid social security number and a US bank account to participate. The first is the most difficult to obtain.

Great question! The answer is absolutely NOT. A legal alien who is working within the united states may obtain a social security number reguardless of what country he/she is a resident of.

It is exactly that www.prosper.com. It is pretty simple to use. You sign up as a borrower or lender and follow onscreen instruction.
My advice is to take it slow. Go to the forum forum.prosper.com and read everything you can. If your not careful you can loose money. Money you would have saved if you took the time to read how it all works.

Great post. I wanted to let you know I am a Prosper lender. At this stage I have made three loans for $50. I am interested in continuing learning on how this all works, and finding others who share the same interest. I also found several other websites that have a similar concept but are more international and for lending to help entrepreneurs in developing countries.

After having been at prosper for 8 months, I am just now becomming comfortable with lending. I have 9 loans out and all are current. I have made a 19.78% return on my investment so far. Most of my new loans are made at the 16-17% range.
