I file my own taxes online. I find that I end up getting more back when I do my own. I also only pay about $30 verses H and R Block's $300 fee. I also find that when you do it online they ask a lot more questions.

I do them myself using turbotax. It's VERY easy and I get my money with in weeks. No paper wasting, no stamp wasting.

I've always done my own taxes until two years ago, when I had a CPA help me. Turned out that he made a mistake on two forms, which I caught and corrected. Then from that time on, I've done my own forms. My situation isn't all that complicated. The devil's in the details, however.

Well I think that more people would do better by filling out their own taxs. But alot of people are really scared to try. tax forms are real easy to do once you learn how to do them.Glad you caught that error!!

I do our taxes myself. I can't see paying $400 for someone else to do them for me. They really aren't that hard to do either. i tried turbo tax one year but i did it on paper myself and ended up getting more than what turbo tax told me i would get. I just fill out the 1040a and mail it in.

I was just going to ask this very same question. Here tax day isnt until the 30th So people still have a week or so left to do them. I do mine myself and use Quicktax. I netfile it so i'm not wasting paper, stamps and you get your money back faster. I had someone do it for me one year..three papers (income, interest for student loan and a donation to the cancer society) it took them a week to do it where as i do it myself in about an hour. The quicktax software costs about 40 dollars that i use...and Paying someone to do it for me costs a minimum of 80 dollars here for a single person. This year the software is ending up costing me only 10 dollars because my boss paid for half so he can do his taxes as well. Then supposedly theres a 10 dollar rebate if you used netfile to do the first profile of taxes. 10 dollars or even 40 dollars sounds sooo much better spending wise than 80. (if i was being paid 40 rather than 80 though id be very disappointed!)
