I have never been much of a fan of the Burger King ads with the king in them (standing outside peoples windows, waking up with him in bed beside you and the whole time with that creepy grin), but they have really taken it to a new level with the ad for their new breakfast item. It's set in the future and the king is a riobot who makes the sandwich for some dud whose wife exclaims, rather breathily,"he's great with his fingers"......gross, he just made a sandwich with those fingers.
Antone else creeped out by the king?

I haven't seen this particular commercial, but I have seen others. I think their "King" is the most disgusting unappealing mascot a chain could have. I mean what were they thinking and how has it lasted this long? He would give little kids nightmares. Now have you seen the Jack in the Box commercials. I don't mind Jack nearly as much - weird humor that I occasionally think is funny.

I'm with you. I actually prefer burger king to mcdonalds, but those commercials annoy & creep me out. Have you seen the one that's a spin on morning wood? I think it was "morning tongue" or something equally disturbing. The guy is walking around with his tongue sticking out, under a turtle neck because he needs hash browns or something. Do we really want to equate breakfast with that???

Yes, my roomie and I are both disgusted by what is going on with the current commercials. Cheetos, Twix, Skittles and such. The activities and hidden motives behind this subliminal messaging not only to us but to our children.
Glad you noticed it too.

Correction eden32: That wasn't a Cheetos commercial you saw, that was an episode of Family Guy. I saw the episode with the Cheetos Cheeta snorting lines of Cheetos a couple days ago...

Thank you both, they are getting insane on the commercials. From Axe to Cheetos, I have stopped buying any thing from Cheetos, do not patron Burger King or any other product that I find can and will cause issues for people.

Yes!!!!!!!! I think it's the creepiest thing they have EVER done! He's like a perve or something! Like, murdering clowns!!! This was probably the WORST thing Burger King could have done. By the way, I haven't eaten there since!

I never really thought about it actually until I stumbled upon this discussion. I don't know the commercial your referring to about the robot but I've seen the ones where they wake up with him in bed, it would be freaky to have that happen for sure.

Burger King's Whopper is the best burger out there! But I have not seen these commercials. I don't watch much tv and when I do I mute the commercials anyway!

Yep! I have been creeped out by him ever since I saw the first commercial with him in it. I don't like him standing far away, then suddenly his in your face! Or when he's standing outside the window looking in.
Personally, I would never take anything he handed me... let alone EAT it!!!

I hate the king, and this is one more reason to eat at McDonald's instead. I have not seen that commercial, but I remember reading about it. I believe they may not be showing it anymore, though I don't watch much TV, so I might just have missed it.

I am super creeped out by the king! The worst commercial of him was when he was as big as Godzilla and was staring into an apartment window.

I totally agree. That king is the weirdest thing since some of the charaters from McDonald's a long time ago, like Grinace.
I wouldn't want to be caught on a dark street with that king. I can almost imagine his bad side.

Oy! I thought I was the only one! LOL!
I've never understood, either, why they fixed up a silly STATUE, when a real person dressed as the King could've played the part much better, oh, & Heaven FORBID some bit-playing actor would be able to make a living, right?
As for showing up in strange places, that's SOP for commercials *Check your baCK -- mR. cLEAN MAY BE STANDING THERE....lol!).
But I'm more creeped out by the weird way that woman (in the futuristic one) says, in a sly & sultry way, "He's _very_ good with his fingers."
And I'm left to try to erase an unbidden image of this huge clockwork man USING his fingers in such a way as to elicit such behaviour on her part!
Euuuw???
Just my tuppence.
