Now that the reward-a-thon is over

Are you relieved? Excited? Or exhausted?
I am glad it's over. I only wrote a few articles, made a total of $10.50. I know I could have done more, but I have been so busy with other stuff lately that I haven't had time to write, or post here, or do much of anything, really. I'm glad it's over because I didn't have time to rate either, which means I was in danger of losing my rating stars. Plus, I was watching the rank of some of my articles fluctuate, so I was worried I'd lose a writing star.
So how did you do?

Maybe it will be easier to get writing stars now. I am really frustrated with Helium. They want you to spend a lot of time writing a nice quality article that you might get paid .09 for, and then spend hours reading and rating articles that I have no interest in. I also get really agravated by the fact that articles that don't even have anything to do with the topic or are very vague are rated higher than mine. I doubt a lot of people even take the time to read entire articles, unless they are particularly interested, and then they just randomly rate them.

I agree it can be frustrating. I have some articles that have earned only pennies, and others that do pretty well. It's the luck of the draw I guess.

I'd say exhausted personally. I was going like a machine and pulling out material on a high rate but it wasn't easy. The rating was going to be the key for me if I got it or not. My writing stars stayed pretty much in tact and the ratings stars stayed in tact and went up to 4 but that's about it. I made almost $1,000, quite the challenge. Would I do it again if it happened all over again? You better believe I would. It pushed me to my limits.

Now that the Helium Reward-a-thon is over I am very relieved, actually. It was taking a lot out of me in the last few days trying to put up as many articles as I could each day while other areas of my work were definitely suffering.
I started off being quite blasé about it so I definitely didn't get into stride until at least two weeks into the competition. It was one of those things where you think you would join it soon but the days just flashed by until I realised that if I didn't make a definite effort I was never going to do it. Furthermore, with my prolific writing skills, I worked out that there was some really decent money to be earned if I took it seriously. However, I had no rating stars (though I had four writing ones) and wondered how I was going to find the time to begin to rate when time is such a tight commodity for me.
Nevertheless, I began in earnest in the first week of March and didn't look back. One day I totally shocked myself by writing 20 articles! Never did that in my life before, though the average has been two articles each day. Then I got my fifth writing star because of the items I was rapidly adding and it felt great to have those five stars. They just looked very different, especially when very few people had them.
This motivated me even more to begin rating and by mid-March I had two rating stars which dropped back to one star a week later. Groan, groan. I thought that I would never get the three rating stars needed to get the money, but I persevered. By the third week of March I was on three rating stars, which jumped to four by the first day of April. I couldn't believe it. All I had done to keep rating was to rate for 10 minutes only each day, or maybe 15, but no more. Just a few minutes and they were paying dividends.
Then ten days ago I got my fifth rating star and became one of only 12 double five star writers on Helium. Halleujah! I have to say that was a wonderful unexpected moment when I saw my fifth star slot into place. An unbelievable feeling of achievement. But I couldn't rest on my laurels, there was still work to be done until the 14th of April. I would have got my double five star rating in dues course but the Reward-a-thon speeded it up. I then decided to go for broke.
Looking back, I wrote over 200 articles during the 100 days and, as a double five star writer you can work out what I got for yourself. :o) I am certainly not complaining and have popped the champagne bottle. But no matter what money I earned, two things came out of that Reward-a-thon which made it all worthwhile. First, the great sense of achievement at facing and winning that awesome challenge and the great feeling of confidence and empowerment it gives you to emerge from it on a wonderful level one did not expect and with a winning smile too. Amazing. And I am very happy with that.
Well done to you too. Feel proud of what you achieved. From little acorns....?

I had plans to write around 30 articles for the rewardathon. It seemed like a realistic goal, but life got busy and I ended up with 7- not what I set out to do, but not bad.
Congratulations on your achievement.

I am glad it is over. I did really well. I made $1440 (I was informed that I was the top earner). My goal was $1500, so not too bad. I am also glad to see those articles continue to make money. I have also been working on a number of other sites, so I am glad that the reward-athon is over though it was really nice to make the money for each article in addition to the passive income. It really makes writing all those articles worth it. However, I will go back to writing 15-20 articles a month there along with all my other sites and blogs.
I didn't get the wrap up e-mail...hmmm...

That's quite an accomplishment. You came much closer to your goal than I did, and mine was quite modest compared to yours. You should be proud.

I am relieved that the rewardathon is over though I would willingly participate again and this time with increased levels of activity.
When I received my notification that I had earnt $35 I was incredibly pleased. After reading here about some of the other payments I feel I should have lifted my game!
All up I averaged about 1 article every 4 days so I guess that is not too bad considering my other commitments... still more would have been better. Oh well

That's pretty good. I also hope they do this again, hopefully when I have more time to devote to it.

I guess I'm a little relieved. I got stressed out over it. I only started there about 2 months ago, I worked hard to get all three rating stars, and my first writing star. I achieved my goal along with 9 qualifying articles one week ago, then lost my writing star the end of last week. So I gave up. Several of my quality articles remain consistent, but my lower ones kept dropping and dropping. :( I'm not pleased. I guess now I can just go at my own pace and work on getting some quality in.

I'm also relieved. It is frustrating watching articles move up and down and wondering where it will be when it comes down to the wire. Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. But at least now you can relax.

I did okay in the reward-a-thon but am glad it is over. Helping members get stars was really hard work, but very rewarding indeed and that's great that many that were helped gained money, even though some days I had up to 43 emails to answer and wore my hands to the bone ! LOL.
It has been an adventure and a worthwhile one.

I did not push to the limits. I wrote at my pace and earned a few hundred. I do not regret as I was a mom too. I had a son and my efforts were to make my son speak as the comments from a friend of mine that my child did not speak at 2 disturbed me to a great extent. Well, by grace of God My son has strated speaking almost well within about 2 months. That was a great encouragement factor for me.

I did not know that there was a reward-a-thon going on. I am not on here that much so I guessed I missed that alert. I try and post at leat 10 posts a day but it all depends on what I have to do during the day as to how much time I can spend on here.

I am kind of indifferent on this as I had lost interest on the contest long back. When the contest started I was very enthusiastic and started rating and writing as much as I could. However, one month down the line, I got three rating stars but the writing stars kept eluding me and frankly the whole process of leapfrogging old articles to gain a star didn't appeal to me at all. I tried, but I just couldn't bring myself to correct my old articles, seemed like a waste of time. I am a very impulsive writer and that is why i stick to subjects which I can write without doing any research. Writing is more a kind of expression of emotions for me, maybe it is a limitation, but thats how I write. I felt like I had written what was my thought process at that point of time, leapfrogging just didn't seem right ! But I am happy for all those who made money and got encouraged. Best of Luck to you and congrats too. As for me, I shall keep writing at my pace and on topics which interest me without worrying about contests.

I also only write what I know and what interests me. That's why I only ended up writing 7 articles.

Oh I am so glad that it's over too! I earned a total of $7.5. I wish I could do more too but I didn't really have time for that. Anyway, my earnings reached payout minimum there too and I am planning to wait and see in that site. I don't really have that much time to rate and I am afraid I would lose my rating stars and wouldn't be qualified to make money there.

You only need to maintain one rating star to earn, and that's only 40 rates in 90 days. Try putting in about 10-15 minutes a week and you should be able to keep one star. It would be a shame to not get your earnings.

$146 here - though I kind of ran out of speed. Think I only wrote two articles in the last three weeks
Was a great way to motivate me to write more in the first place. do think a 100 days though was too long, I just ended up losing interest, although I was on $2 per artciles so I should probably have written more

To be honest I was kind of anti-helium. I was a strict AC person.
but then I went back and I finally realized why people like d helium. Unfortunately it was too late. There were only a few days left of the reward-a-thon and getting even a single star would have been hard.
So I just focused on writing for fun and for contests.
