As most of the high school students know. April vacations has almost come, after that its summer vacation. What are some ideas for summer businesses that a teenager could run? I'm thinking about starting up a small landscaping business with a friend of mine. Is there any landscapers on mylot that would want to post some information about the job. I have done lawns and a lot of yard work for a few people that are friends of the family, but I think I could make a lot more making into into a business because landscaping is a greatly desired service in my area and I could also get the experience of having my own business.

This is a great idea for teenagers to make some money in their summer vacation. I want to give my ideas for some short term home business.
If you have some money to invest then you can also buy lots of different products like ladies dresses' used or new DVDs etc from ebay in cheap prices. Then you can sell them seperatly on ebay and you can make tripple your money.
This is best business in my mind for summer vacations.
Thanks

i cant help with the landscaping, but can throw out some other ideas.
fence painting
gardening
lawn mowing (of course)
paper route (if that still exists for teens)
dog walking/bathing
tutoring (yes even in summer)
reading/crafts for younger children
ebay (or find yard sale/garage items and list on ebay)
birthday parties are big summer fun (be a clown or magician at these events)
bake/sell your own cookies/cakes/candy
clean out garages/attics/basements (big spring event)
curb painting (painting house numbers on the curb)
whatever your interests are you can always find a way to turn that into some extra spending money. Say for example you like skateboarding, make some flyers and pass them out, teach others what you know. maybe have a gathering once a week and teach safety on a skateboard to younger kids, or kids just learning to skateboard.
Help other teens find jobs. go around the neighborhood and ask your friends and neighbors what job could you use help with, (gardening, cleaning, pets, yard work, etc.) Find other teens looking for work and put the two together. Your own little job agency so to speak.
Tip 1: find something you enjoy! (reading, outdoors, animals, children, etc.)
Tip 2: think outside the box!
good luck with your landscaping venture!!
ps: i own my own pooper scooper business. not a glamorous job but great for teens. check my other posts for more details specifically on that.
