I have been taking this amazing herb for about 2 years. It has been really effective in controling hot flashes. My GYNO said I should stay within 40 mil of the herb daily which equals about 3 pills a day. I am having the flashes start again.
Has anyone out there found a waay to deal with hot flashes?

I'll have to keep the cohosh in mind. I'm sure I have them coming soon... I'm in my mid 40's now! LOL

I am lucky enough, so far, to be free of these. Last week, I was hot and uncomfortable at a gathering at night when others were feeling cold. I was told by one "friend" that I was having hot flashes. It turned out that I was having a fever. grins.
I do not think that hot flashes register 99.8 F. At least I hope not.
I would suggest for hot flash relief ideas go to the website www.power-surge.com as this site has an on line community where women talk about a whole lot of menapause issues including hot flashes and other. The site has been around for 15 years and has some experts on it as well as having a lot of person stories... I like its lay out. That site mentions that women in Japan have less hot flashes due to their "high fiber, low-fat diets and their high dietary intake of soy products."
They mention too that ones' thoughts, feelings and expectations may increase or decrease the symptoms of hot flashes. I take this and think that if you find something that you believe that you will work, it will work for you to reduce these symptoms.
Good luck to you with this.

Black cohosh hasn't helped me with hot flashes, but my mood swings are not so bad.

I do have hot flashes every now and then, I do not really know what to tell you about how to deal with them. I had a hysterectomy 34 years ago. I am on the hormone therapy called Estradiol, they seem to work pretty well for me.

I have been taking back cohosh for a few years too for perimentopause symptoms. I later added don qui (two a day) and a soy supplement. it mad a huge difference for me. I later added a herbal pegesterone cream and It again too me to a new level. I havent had a hot flash in motnhs. I did stop the black for a bit but then the hot flashes returned.
I also some time drink a traditional medicinals herbal tea cause mentopause relief it hs a few other herbs too. it tastes ok.
If you go to menopause rx web site you can sign up for a free kit that comes with a free months supply of remifem (black cohosh) and a few other samples, but best of all, a ton of great info on both natural remedies and others as well.
