I know how to assemble a computor. I can do most everything on it but when i get in a bind i have my son come into my computor and fix it. He lives in another state and we have a thing where he can just dial into my comp and check it out. He is the one who started me on these things and when he moved i had to finally start doing for myself. But when i am in a bind he always comes in and helps me out. I dont pay for repair either. it costs too much and if i have to i just let him talk me through it onn the phone. It takes awhile but hey its no charge for me.

Your son helped you how to assemble a computer....
Where is he?? What state?? But it's very great you have
learned to assemble because of him...
I learned how to assemble by myself by looking and analyzing on some of the computer technicians on my fathers office...

I've been building my own computers for years. I think my first one was 486SX cpu with 64k ram and a 2gb hard drive! I remember thinking that that system ROCKED! LOL. The last one I built was a 3.0ghz dual core cpu, 2gb ram, 512mg NVidia video card. I am already thinking about upgrading it.

Do I use the 486? No that is long gone though I kept the CPU. I kind of collect my old CPUs. The oldest I have is a 286.
I am using the 3.0ghz computer that I mentioned right now. It is not the fastest rig out there but it is plenty fast for what I do.
Right now I have this one that I am using, a 700mhx P3 I built and that my younger kids use, a 2.3ghz Dell that my oldest son uses that I bought from Dell, a Dell laptop for my wife and a Lenovo laptop I use for work. So what is that? 5 computers. I have two others that I am not currently using that I built. One is a 800 mhz box that I had setup as a Linux file server for our home network. I used that for a couple of years to store backups and music and pics that could be accessed from any computer in the house. But I found that just putting a big HD on one of the desktops and share it worked better.

I have to admitt i know nothing about computers. You are talking about assembling? Ohh no! That just gets to me. What gets where and where do i plug this one .It could have a big drawing and i still won't be able do it. When it comes to PC i have to call someone that knows what to do because it's for the best!

I think I'm good at the hardware of a computer. The only thing I haven't done is changing the CPU.
I have reassemble everyting in my computer a few times because I wanted to modify the chassi a couple of times, Making holes and stuff for fans.
If my brain totally frezze about a cable I just leave it there and find out what it is when I start the computer.
And! Almost forgot, The dumbest mistake I have done with computer was then I got some new RAM-memory's, I put it in the wrong way! ;D I have no idea how I did it, but I did it anyway ;)

yes, I am quite familiar with the computer hardware. I have upgraded my system several times and always deal with hardware issues myself.
Replacing a faulty part is fine if you install it yourself, but paying for such a service would be very expensive.

Is not very difficult:
-you must begin putting processor on the mother board,
-put dissipator on processor,
-connect Ram in their slot (choice correct ram type and frequency),
-connect HD (in first data cable and then power cable)
-connect cd or dvd reader/writer (the same operation for connect HD, first data ahd then power cable)
-connect the power supply
You have assembled your pc :-)
Don't worry for connect cables, there is only one mode for connect them, if see connectors and their relative slots them have particular form.
I hope that simple steps can help you.
Have a nice day, Emiliano

Well, the only thing I know about computer is use it. But with respect to building one, I leave it to a friend of mine who is good at it. Most probably the closest thing to building the computer that I know of is connecting the cables.
