Can You Cook Homemade Biscuits?

I have never been able to make baking powder biscuits. I usually buy them in a tube. But see the recipe that an earlier poster posted I'm going to tey it. I do know that you have to be careful not to work them too much. But I can make yeast biscuits with no problem.

I just looked at this recipe again and read that the flour makes the difference. If you live in the South, try White Lily or another low protein flour. If you live in the North or West, replace 2-3 Tbsp of all purpose flour with cake or Wondra flour for the best results. Northern flour, especially the nicer brands, have too much protein to make a good biscuit.

1st time i baked biscuit at home & it came really good.
For 100 biscuits,
veg-ghee(dalda)-2cup(small cup)
sugar pwd-2 1/2cups (same cup)
all purpose flour(maida)-7cups
cardimom -2(powdered)
milk pwd-1tb sp
1.Mix ghee & sugar well till it becomes smooth
2.Add cardimom pwd & milk pwd mix well
3.then atlast add all purpaose flour mix well by rubbing.
U can taste it for sugar if required u can add sugar.
preheat oven at 200 degree for 10min
Make small doughs of mixture & keep it in oven for 15-20min
This recipe i got it from bakery.

Yup, it's one of my favourite things to make actually. I use a recipe I found on Allrecipes.com. Believe it or not they are called Never Fail Biscuits.

Of course! I have the Better Homes and Garden's Cookbook---- it has a really good biscuit recipe, among a lot of great others. Take care!
