I am currently working for a very well known supermarket chain with the line 'every little helps'. I have been working for em for approximtely 18months now, an I must say that it is one of the worst companies that i have every worked for. You get no support from the other members of the management and having recently been off sick with a broken hand, I have been told that I may not even have a job to go back to....
How crap is that.. Apparantly beacause I have had nearly 3 months off, they cannot tell me if i will be sacked through disaplinary... How wrong is that...

Wow, that company sounds like it really isn't a good one to work for. Did you break your hand at work? They shouldn't fire you because your not able to work. Most companies will try and give you something else to do in the time your can't perform your normal tasks again. You worked there over a year I would think they would try and keep you there. It's really sad how some managers don't care about their employees.

I don't know where you live, but if you are in the ?US and are fired when you have been out for medical reasons, you are able to draw unemployment.
I have been fired for missing work because of a broken finger. I got to draw unemployment because every day I was out I had a doctor's note for them.
