What is your most horrible experience with a dentist?

I got a cavity filled & it was supposed to be numb & it was a deep one. I was about off the chair & white knuckling holding the chair b/c it hurt so bad. I kept telling the dentist it wasn't numb & it hurt - he didn't care. When he was finished he said you did pretty good for it not being numb!!! I was furious! I spent the rest of the day taking out huge chunks of filling out of my mouth b/c he didn't have me rinse or get it all out when he was finished. I never went back to that quack & actually didn't go back to a dentist for a few years b/c I was terrified to. When I did go I went back to the one my parents took me to as a teen & they knew my fear & they put me at ease. Over 15 years later I'm still with them even tho' it's an hour drive for me now.

I have two bad experience with the dentists. First, when I pulled my upper tooth on the left side of my upper jaw, it was so horrible that I really cried, it took 2 hours before that one tooth was removed!and I was began to feel the pain. Second was happen last January this year. I have my front upper teeth filling, but I don't know what happen, with in two weeks the filling started to break and my gums swelled most of the time. I will changed another dentist next month to repair the damage.

I can honestly say I have not had a horrible experience at the dentist. Even when I had to have teeth pulled it wasn't that bad because my dentist is very gentle and knows when I am in pain with something. He is good at what he does.

I have had one bad experince. When I was pregnant I got a filling with NO NUMBING meds!! It wasnt a "deep" cavity therefore he didnt see the need for any meds. I have NEVER been back to that dentist. Never really had a fear of dentist, and still dont, but I REFUSE to use that one again!!!
