Where did satan come from?

I know this is covered in the bible, and I have heard the story, but I don't remember it. So, if God created Heaven and Earth, where did Satan come from? Why did God create him? and who created hell? And, why is he called the anti-christ? wouldn't he be the anti-god, since he has been since before Christ?

Duality! We are all made of duality...there are always at least two opposite parts in all of us, as human beings, at any level. We can make either a good thing or a bad thing, we have both ugly parts and beautiful parts in ourselves, there is either truth or lie in what we say...and examples may continue... There is a need of such duality, since it can help us control ourselves, being better, developing our personalities, living our lives as humans after all. So this is my explanation for the existence of Satan...God's ways needed to be compensated somehow, by His opposite...by His "anti-". Who came first into being, or who created whom, this is a subjective thing...it varies from culture to culture, from religion to religion, from thought to thought...And also who created what may also be subject of debating! ~...in my opinion...feel free to express yours!~

According to what i heard, satan used to be an angel when he thought of making his own kingdom and separate from god.

God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Ghost or Spirit are all equal and work together and agree. Satan whose name was Lucifer was created along with all the other angles. He was a covering cherub leading the singers around God. He was just lower than Jesus but decided he wanted to be above God and Jesus. He caused a lot of trouble in heaven so was cast out along with 1/3 of the angles. God didn't make him evil but gave him a choice. God knew that he would become evil so he was prepared with Jesus. It is like us when it comes to having children. We know that they could turn out bad but we love them and have them any way. It was the same with God.

Thank you for the link. It answers the question of where Satan came from. So, taking from this we could conclude that he is called the anti-christ because both were created by god - one choosing to be evil, and the other to be on the side of good?

Originally Lucifer aka Satan was the Angel of light. He disagreed with God and because of he was banished from God's love and thus set to be the ruler of hell. Actually original Hell was just the absence of the presence of God but was later changed to mean the fiery punishment. The antichrist isn't Satan but the son of Satan and that is why he's the opposite of Christ who was the Son of God. The antichrist is not supposed to come into our world until Armageddon and when Christ is supposed to come again.

Now that would make sense - the son of satan being the anti-christ.

Satan doesn't have a son. The reason he is called anti-christ is because he is against Jesus Christ.

Actualy he is not even called the Anti-Christ. Anti-Christ is the spirit that denighs that Jesus,"the Word" came in flesh and blood, If one says that Jesus did not come in the flesh then he has a spirit of anti-Christ. The persona who comes at the time of the end has sevral other names, he is called the Assyrian, the Man of Sin, The Great Beast. It is Ha-Shatan (meaning; the Avasary) also called the Devel (meaning; little el or little god) who gives the Beast both his seat (thrown or kingdom) and his power ( could mean the powers of Satan or the power of state) and makes him wage war agaisnt the people of Elohim (God), and he will bring a false prophet to give false phrophicies to deceive many people to follow him to war against both the Jew and Christian. He willhave his Govenorship given to him earthly by ten leaders of ten countries mentioned in Ezkiel, Isaih and in Daniel. But once he gains his power to rule he will send his armies into three countries and over throw them. The remaining 7 countries will let themselves be subjugated by him and give him totlal authority over thier lands and armies. His kingdom is the eighth kingdom but will be a part of the whole of the united kingdoms, this is the seven horns of the beast power. He will rule in a country or kingdom that was once nad was not and reborn again, the kingdom of Babylon, Not from the city of Babylon bot from another city that still exist of anciant Babylon. He will then attack to the west and send his armies to attack Isriel, but will have to return to his own kingdom becouse Gog will attack him from the Northwest of his land, Gog is the kingdom of Magog Rushia or Moscow. A global conflect will result in the use of Noclear weapons and the destruction of the armies of the beast and then the return of the Christ, (The Word of God)

The defintion of Satan varies greatly depending on the religion. Satan first appeared in Old Testament in the book of Job. (Yes I know he shows up in the adam and eve story, as the snake, but the name satan was added in there later by Christians, it's not in the Hebrew Torah.) Even in the Book of Job, Satan was not evil but a servent of G-d. He was basically a prosecuting attorney *for* G-d. That is to say, his job was to keep tab on man and their sins, and make the case that they were not worth of G-d, their life, or the after life. He wasn't evil, just doing his job. Satan quickly morphed into the Devil during the Christian Era, to the anti-G-d, rebellious angel doomed to hell and torment and wanting to take as many souls down with him as possible. As for the anti-christ, the anti-christ would be the evil equivelent of Jesus. The son of Satan, made flesh to destroy the world and cause suffering. Hope that helps.

Something else I wanted to add, the Christian "Satan" was the Angel Lucifer, angel of light. Credited as being the most favored by G-d, and the most beautiful of all the Angels. His rebellion on G-d was over man, since man became more favored by G-d than the Angels. So according to Christian tennets, he was jealous and full of pride and started a war in heaven with 1/3 of the angels who followed him. Eventually they were cast out of heaven and condemned to hell as demons. With Satan the leader of course.

Thank you! I am learning a lot in this discussion. Satan as prosecuter I can grasp. And I can totally see the christian church turning him into the evil being he is percieved to be today. It puts him in the place of pointing out our flaws and weaknesses rather than the source of them, but humans are always trying to pass the buck - hmmm.. something to think on there.

I don't believe in God or Satan or Hell but if one reads the bible, Satan came from God. God created all things. God created Evil and god Created the wicked for the evil day. "Yet all is of God"....."EVERYTHING is of him", "EVERYTHING is according to God's Will", God even "operates ALL in ALL" That means he controls the functions of ALL IN ALL. So, when a child is molested and tortured, it is the Will of the Christian God and that god created the wicked person to do that, that god controlled the wicked person, that god watched it all take place and heard the cries of the child.....EVERYTHING is of god and that is from scripture. Christians call this god MORAL? I call it sick, and vile and disgusting and I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would praise such a being and give them glory for such deeds. And we wonder what is wrong with our society today? We teach our kids that God is love, mercy and compassion and then they turn around and read how this God that loves his children murdered most all of them and all other life in a torturous flood. Then this same God promises to torture billions with fire in the end times. Christian still call him moral and kids learn this and mentally are obviously confused and some are disturbed and damaged. It is NEVER moral to kill, created wicked people to kill, murder or torture and if we call someone moral that does that, it sends a rather confusing message to children...would't you think? peace

If people really want to know if the Christian God created evil and satan, all they need to do is read scripture because they claim it is the perfect word of God. Let me help: First, we must remember "For OF him and THROUGH him, and TO him, are ALL things: to whome be glory for ever. amen" Rom. 11:36 Notice the Doncordant version of the same scripture: "seeing that out of him and through him and for him is ALL..." God's word, NOT MINE, and if you don't like it, take it up with him. Another example? "NOW the SERPENT was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD GOD had MADE...." Gen. 3:1 Again, I prove with scripture that God made satan. Is satan evil? did god create all things? does that include evil? of course it does and again, scripture supports my statement. Let us look: Isaiah 45:6-7: "......I make peace, AND CREATE EVIL; I the LORD do ALL these things". Again, perfectly clear and iron clad proof that the word of god verifies that he created evil. There are many more examples: Job 1:7 and 2:2 - "and the LORD said unto SATAN, Whence comest thou? Then SATAN answered the LORD, and said, "from going TO and FRO in the earth, and from the walking UP and Down". I find it interesting that Christians will work very hard to avoid discussing the scriptures when those scriptures expose their lies or attempts to lie concerning their belief. Do we need more proof from scripture to support exactly what I have stated? OK..no problem. ISAIAH54:16 - "behold, i have created the smith that blows the coals in the fire and that bring forth an instrument for HIS work, and I hve created the WASTER to DESTROY" Rather powerful support for what i have stated. Here is something that most christians would not like to get out and which also supports that point that ALL MEN WILL be SAVED: "and no marvel; for SATAN himself is transformed INTO an ANGEL OF LIGHT" II cor. 11:14......yes, even satan. why would god do this kind of thing? Because he created it all and is responsible for All and that includes the evil. therefore, he cannot likely justly destroy and torture other for what he has done. rather profound if one actually tries to think about it. peace

Satan was once an angel of God but he and some others revolted against Him so they were cast down from Heaven because of their actions. He became too proud when he was almost as powerful as God and he tried to overthrow Him but failed. The anti-christ means he's the anti-messiah. This means he's the one who will undo the things Jesus did hence his title "anti-christ."

I believe that Satan was one of us. A child of God but he had a different path in mund so God cast him out. Christ and Satan each posed a plan and God said that Christs plan was the right way and I think that is why he is the Anti Christ. He opposed the will of Christ.

Okay now bible strats with creation of heaven and then earth, and it never ever mentions that God created something called hell, 4 humans to b tormented, too false for a god who is merciful, so there it is , the bible mentions hell wasnt created, so hell isnt. And satan was portrayed as an angel, created by God, turned wicked n proud. So in many of the later verses of bible like in coll, corin, john and so on, we can see scriptural base for concluding that angels were created by God long b4 he created heavens or earth or humans....

first of all god not created the satan but he created the angels to praise him.On that group the ceroobin is the leader of angels and he had more power among that angels. On this occassion the ceroobin filled with pride and he lust the chair of our mighty god.And some angels also supported him.so our god pushed him down he come down to the earth and make the man to do sin and create his kingdom against our god.But jesus came to the earth he broughgt the salvation to the mankind

Satan was the most beautiful angel and the closest angel to God. He got to the point where he thought he could overthrow God because he got to arrogant and that is how he was cast out and no longer can live in Heaven. He was like the right hand angel of God and got way to cocky and made other angels believe that he would make a better God, so all that went with him also went out with him. Just goes to prove you can't outdo God and probably don't wanna try to. LOL. God bless

Satan and other angels were created in order to serve God. Just like man, they were created with free will. They are free to obey or not just like us. Satan chose not to obey. He has the highest rank among angels before but he rebelled before God. Angels were created before the earth was created. The Bible tells about the Anti-Christ. This is someone who will appear in the last days which will act as the supreme being here on earth. Satan will be supporting it of course. His act will try to counter Christ's purpose here on earth but in the end will be defeated when Christ comes.

To my understanding God created Satan. He was an angel but he didn't want to follow God's way so he was cast out of Heaven something like that. I don't believe in god and I don't believe in Satan. Also, I don't get it why the devil is call the anti Christ, just like I don't get why some people pray to Jesus when he is not god. Religions are confusing.
