i did community service since it is required in our course. together with my groupmates, we saved enough money and painted a daycare center that was hardly a conducive are for learning before we came in. then we gave them school supplies, a fan, educational posters and books. the kids and the teacher were very thankful with what we have done. it really made us feel so happy and satisfied.
how about you guys? what are your experiences doing volunteer work?

I agree with you. The feeling you get after helping people is priceless! It leaves a smile on your face that not even material things could replace.

I too have volunteered for my kids classroom, I do it every year and the teachers love the extra help, I've also volunteered my time to a girlscout troop, I accompany them on their camping trips and other events they do. it helps when you have a big group of girls and need parent volunteers. and the kids enjoy it and if you love kids it's a great way to keep yourself busy. it's fun as well.

One of the very best experiences I ever had volunteering was working for the courts. I worked as a child advocate investigating the cases of children removed from their homes and placed in foster care. It took up a lot of time visiting the parents, foster homes, pulling records from schools, doctors and testifying in court. I only wish I had been paid and I would be doing it still. I would rjecommend the CASA program to anyone.

I love doing volunteer work. It gives me satisfaction and I am happy if everyone is happy. I have once volunteer to spring cleaning my sister house. She has not have much time to do all the cleaning in her house because she is a very busy person. So, when she went for an official trip for a week, I volunteer to clean up her house. I can say that the house was in total mess. It took me 3 days to clean the windows, throwing out rubbish and re-arranging the whole furniture. When she came back, she was so happy to see the new look of her home. It make so happy to see her happy.

I've done quite a bit of volunteer work in my life. I used to volunteer every year at the help desk at the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. And I've volunteered at the local food bank before. I've also volunteered at a local educational fair for kids.
Currently I do a lot of volunteer work with homeless animals. I work with local adoption and education centers, shelters, and rescue groups. I help take care of the animals, and I take pictures of them to post online so that they might get adopted. It's great work and I absolutely love it! I love making a difference in these animals' lives.
