How many times did it take you to pass your drivers test? Did you take a drivers class? Back in 1965 they had a State requirement class and so as A Freshman I felt happy to have an edge over older students still not driving

I have never sat a drivers test, even though I know how to drive. My husband taught me. I still need to learn the road code though. That is one thing on my list of "things to learn/do". Not sure when that is going to happen though LOL

Hi Rose. I passed the first time. I had a great teacher though. The boy's coach taught drivers ed. He even taught us how to change out a tire if we ever had a flat. You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to do that. The worst part, some don't know they have those fancy wheel locks on their wheels. If they have a flat and don't have that lock, (some people throw them away not realizing), they can't get that wheel off. They have to have it towed. So, I'm glad I had a great teacher.

Funny you should say that. We get a lot of the men that come in fussing about how their grown daughters don't know anything about cars except how to put gas in and go. Finally, one day I told a gentleman, would you like for me to explain why this is? He said yes. I told him, when you daughter was little, sitting on your knee, when you called her your little princess, you told her some day a man would come into her life and do all these things for her. Ya know, he had to laugh and agree. Hugs

When I was 16 years old, I took a driver's training course and barely passed my road test the first time. Michigan has a graduated license program; 14 years and 8 months - driver's permit, 16 years old and curfew - level 2 license, 18+ years - regular license.

Fortunatley, I passed my test the first time I took it. I got my license back in January. My school offers a class with just a $30 fee so I took it. That was about a year ago, I was just procrastinating on getting my license. I guess all the practice paid off!

My husband taught me to drive in a cemetary.. We were dating at the time and of course, he had to give me the line about how I couldn't kill anyone while learning to drive in the cemetary.. Well, I didn't and I didn't kill him for the smart remarks, I did the next best thing, I married him and have made him pay for 40 years.. But it was all in good fun and I did learn without help from anyone but him and it has really, all jokes aside, been that way with us for 43 years.. He was a very good teacher and he is still a very careful driver..
