Destiny, fate and things pre-ordained

Just wondering what your thoughts are on destiny/fate.
For as long as I can remember, I've believed that when you are born, you are given your own, unique 'use by date'.
I also believe that certain situations and circumstances are pre-ordained, but the outcome isn't, because with every problem we face, there are differnt choices, and therefore different paths, that we choose to go down.
So, what are your thoughts?

Like you, I believed that there are things that are beyond our powers to change. But how we react to that situation will determine the path that we want to go. We each have our own stories to tell, only differentc circumstances in life. But God gave us the wisdom to make decisions and this makes us different from the rest of the animal kingdom.
