Need help moving blog from blogspot to own domain

I've got a blog on blogspot (blogger.com) and want to move it to my own domain (a .com). I've already bought the domain I plan to use but, before actually moving it, I would like some advice on how to do it so that I can maintain (as far as possible) my traffic, PageRank, Alexa ranking, inbound links, etc. Here I would like to say that although the PageRank of my blogspot blog is only 0/10 (because it's only a few months old itself and just got indexed by Google only around a month and a half back), I expect it to at least be a PR1 the next time Google updates its PR. Whereas my new .com has "No PR available" at present and I would expect it to have a PR0 n the next update. So, any way for me to arrange things so that my new .com goes straight to PR1?? The second part of my question is that right now I have just put a couple of posts on my new .com while I wait for it to get indexed (I can't move my old blog there just now cos I have some sponsored posts on it, n they want me to wait until the new .com gets indexed at least). Later on I plan to just redirect my old blogspot blog to my new .com (through blogspot's free custom domain mapping feature). That is, it will still be hosted on blogspot, but will look like its hosted through my own host. So, would the inbound links to my old blog still work and I wont lose out on traffic to the new .com ? will that also help in improving the PR and alexa ranking of my new .com? any other advise/suggestions on how to go about this to get the optimum results would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

One of my friends bought her own domain and somehow managed to just redirect the blogger.com address to the domain one. Have you tried asking the folks who sold you the domain on how to do that? Also, if I'm not mistaken, blogger.com has an FAQ on this. Try this link - http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=55373
