Will you pay $2000 for a Louis Vuitton handbag?I know I don't,I can never afford those fancy brands.
A replica of the designer's work in street markets for only a thousand is very common, and it will take a leather expert and a microscope to tell it apart from the real McCoy.
I heard this from my instructor in college, that rip-off goods is not common in western countries. The corporations have better cooperation from governments.I'm not sure if that's true, but here in China you can see replicas everywhere in the street markets.Yeah, they are two or even 10 times cheaper than the originals. The prevalence of and demand for these rip-off goods accounts for the huge money in annual global losses for multinationals such as Nike or Yamaha.
I personally buy pirates, such as CD,books, they are everywhere and much cheaper. What do you think of pirates?Do you buy them?Or you'd rather spend huge money to support the real McCoy?

I don't care too much about branded products... so even if they are very cheap rip offs or immitations... i don't buy them... i prefer products that are cheaper but are not rip offs... but with CD's and book's... i prefer the original... because i am sure of the quality...

I usualy don't buy rip off brands, they may be chaeper but the are lacking in quality. I find it hard to tell sometimes weither I am buying a real or a fake, unless the prices are rediculously cheaper than they should be.

I have never been bothered much with designer goods, they seem to be a total rip off anyway. There are some very good fakes on the market these days if you really feel the need to parade a fancy name. I won't, however, buy fake CDs or DVDs as the quality can be very poor on the pirate goods.

Nope. If you look carefully there are good-quality products at affordable prices, so why waste money on top brands?
But I find that our DVD players are no longer able to play pirated discs, so I would prefer to buy or rent original DVDs.

Well, I'm not much of a bag person but if you're talking about DVDs, there's a whole stretch near our area that's selling pirated DVDs. There are a lot of foreigners who come & buy them by the dozens. Even the locals & people from other states will come by as well. The DVDs are of original quality if you know which stall to buy from & it;s dirt cheap especially for the foreigners. If you want to save, some will buy without the cover, just DVD & it's only RM4. With cover is RM5. I remembered 1 of my cousin's friend who's a policeman from UK came & bought like a few dozen back home. RM5 is like USD1.50 & for the Brits it's like only 70pence back then, no wonder he bought so many whenever he came 2 our place.

I really don't care all that much about designer goods that I would even buy one if I had the money. I also don't buy pirated DVDs, CDs, or any of that because that's not fair to the person who originally created it. Perhaps because I am an artist it's because that really bothers me. I would definitely hate it if someone took one of my works, copied it all around, and didn't pay me a cent. Besides, none of these copies can compare to the original.

Hello there, although I cannot afford and won’t pay for the expensive brands products, I don’t think it is rip-off. The reason those brands products are expensive are because of their design and style, which are exclusive to the other products. I believe this is also one of the reasons they are not very common or popular here. We will pay for what we can afford and what we like.
However, during the sale season, for those expensive brands products, we may afford it if they are half price or even 75 per cent of the original price! LOL

I have a six year old son who's dad has never helped in anyway. So I have become a very thrifty person and have learned to shop from the clearance racks. And I feel good when I find a shirt that was 20 - 30 dollars and I only pay 5 dollars for it.
Even if i had the money I would never pay that much for a name brand. Because thats all your paying for is the status. Just so that person can say I have a Louis Vuitton. And I have never been one who has cared about status, all I care about is how much I have left in my pocket when I leave the store.

I don't understand why people spend so much money on name brands. They could spend $5 on a purse at Goodwill (a retail store that uses the profits to benefit disabled people here in the U.S.) and save all that money.
Rip-off goods are alive and well here in the U.S.! People sell them on eBay, out of their car trunks on the street, and in the classifieds sections of the newspaper.
I don't understand why anyone would pay $1000 for an item that they could get for $20 but without the designer name. I know a lot of places I could put the $980 difference that could improve my life, not to mention all the charitable causes that could use that money!!
I guess people like that just have so much money they don't have to care. Must be nice!!

There are some fantastic copies around on things these days, if I see copies of things and I think that they are really good then I would buy it no problem!! I buy pirate cds and dvds and they are such good copies that you can hardly tell the difference at all. The dvds come in handy when we buy for the kids as they only scratch them anyway and so it is pointless spending a fortune on them. I hardly ever buy the real deal.

I cannot afford those genuine products but if I really have this urged to have one, then I would rather choose the fake ones coz not everyone in this world , especially in my place, would take the time and the nerve to examine closely if you got the real ones. I believe it's more practical this way, besides it's your own choice so you don't have to regret anything.

I used to buy pirates, such as clothes, handbags, shoes and books. Not because I like to use the pirates, just for their cheap price. To tell the truth, the pirates are really not good for use. They usually go bad easily. Meanwhile, some of the pirated clothes are bad for my cutis.
Now, I could make money. The pirate have been leave me. It is a protect for the real ones.
