I find a great time saving matter comes when we are watching movies than reading books.Movies tell the whole story in 2 hours but while reading books, it depend on us how much we can read in a day.
So what do you prefer ?

I can't even bare to watch the films - I blankly refuse. The thing is that I was 10 when the first book came out (when harry was 10 too) and so I grew up with the characters (though due to delays releasing the books I am now 2 years older...). I just know the films would ruin it for me because I have the pioctures of the characters in my head and frankly i don't want them to be changed by some filmmaker who never enjoyed them as children themselves. Lol I sound bitter but really I'm not, unless someone says the films are better lol

I prefer the books over the movies because the movies leave a lot of the story line out.

Watching movie is really better if you consider the time, but those things that we can watch are not complete compared to what we can read. If you read the book first before watching it, maybe you may got disappointed because some good scenes are not in the film. So, i, as a Harry Potter fan preferred reading than watching, but i still watch the film after reading it to have the right visualization of some things that happens in Hogwarts, the things that 'he who must not be named' want to stole, the appearance of each character, etc. But Harry Potter as a whole is really great, reading or watching it can get you addicted!

It depends on what I'm in the mood for, if I felt like watching the more summarised version I'd watch the movie. If I felt like experiencing the full story I'd read the book.
I think most of the time I'd read the book, since I like to read the whole thing. And also, with a book you can put it down any time (after the initial reading or two, at least ;) )

Eek, well i can only compare this to other books that have been made into movies as i have never read or watched a harry potter film or book, they just dont interest me,
I have however read and watched the da vinci code and i think reading the book is always better as the film dissapointed me greatly and missed out a lot of things that were in the book
so i opt for books, you can also use your own imagination and perception when reading the stories too.
