Jorkin,
The whole world can already see China's awesome power even today. If China was not as powerful as it is, it would have been crushed a long time ago.
However, the world sees China as a country of great power but no responsibility. In the world most of us live in, power is "feared," but only humanity and goodwill are "respected."
If you want the world to fear you, you've already got it. If you want the world to RESPECT you, then you need to stop thinking about acquiring more power and start thinking about how to use your incredible power for the greater good of all mankind, not just China.
India and China have very similar economies and per capita incomes. Their military strength is approximately the same as well. However, the world seems to respect India a lot more than they respect China. Perhaps it is because India has never "started" a war in its 5,000 year old history, whereas China has been a warring nation all the while. China was more "powerful." They even defeated India in the war of 1962 and captured a lot of their land when India was a weak and defenseless nation. Yes, China was always POWERFUL. It was never "respected."
Power is obtained. Respect is earned.

You probaly misunderstand my meaning.In my oppinion,power means developing ,not control the world or something else.You talked about 1962,Do you know what happened in that year ?Your lovely country means to invade our Tibet.Please don't deny it ,because your country has realized its error and admitted it.Both of us know the importance of border area for a country.I don't know about Indian education very much,but not like you, we are educated to respect all the country in the world.India is one of the human origins ,it has a great culture and many great people.People there are good at singing and dancing,we like them,but you amazed me.I can't believe you think China in that way,it's absolutly wrong.Before you support or oppose a country,please know more about it,or you will have no right to say anything on it.

yes, i think it's unfair to say the whole country of China is bad. i'm sure there are many, many wonderful people there. The United States, looking towards "the almighty dollar" bought tons and tons of goods from China, probably for pennies, without FIRST checking the safety standards of these products, and then only after finding safety concerns with these products (after they were bought, shipped, warehoused, priced for maximum profit, put on store shelves, and bought by the consumer.)did they release a barrage of complaints against China. where were all the safety checks throughout all these steps? and why, if the safety concerns by the U.S. government are so high, don't we just make these products here and give much needed jobs to the American people?....one word answer....GREED!!!

I sincerely appreciate your enlightened and rational attitude. Obviously, if there were more people like you, I mean ,try to make objective judgment on a comprehensive basis, we would not be bogged in this deadlock. Wish you will share your opinion with your friends.

The key to this is
DON'T FEEL SAD.
They WANT you to feel sad, otherwise they wouldn't say a whole lot nasty things that they don't understand themselves. That way they feel that they have power and control over you.
At times like this, don't get angry. Be strong, don't attack the other person and show that you're angry, because that's what they want.
Use reasoning to prove why you're right, and they're wrong. It's even better if they get angry, and you stay logical, because no one sympathises with an abusive person.
