As some of you know, I sleep on a sofa sleeper. We are trying to find a place to move to and didn't want to buy any new furniture until we moved.
Well, our sleeper BROKE this morning! Hubby was fixing the bed and realized the leg had come apart from the bar, now maybe it is just a screw that came undone, I don't know.
What I do know is I can't afford any new furniture right now. We would have to take out another account and I don't want to owe anymore money while trying to buy a house.
I am just hoping he can fix it later today so we can sleep on the sleeper tonight. If not, I'll be on the sofa and he will be in the chair, neither are that comfortable to sleep on all night (naps are another thing). lol

This is awful icy, hopefully it is just a screw loose or something that is easy to mend.
When I was a kid the wheels at the bottom of the legs of my bed came off and so we ended up using books (sacriledge I know) to prop up the bed as we couldn't afford to buy one either. So don't know if you have any 'cheap' books that you don't mind having a dent in and put them under the bed?
Otherwise if it is for a short period of time only, could you not just sleep on the mattress? That is if it separates from the base of the sofa bed? I did that for a year in Costa Rica. It isn't the same as a sofa bed but it is certainly better than the floor!
My mother has a one bedroom flat in London and when I visit I put all the cushions from the sofa on the floor and wrap my sheet around it to keep them together and sleep on that. Another suggestion that will save money!
Good luck honey

Thank you Angel,
I can't pull the matteress out of the bed, I have no place to put it the next morning, so we would be constantly pulling it out and putting it back and the matteress is pretty heavy.
We don't know when we are moving, we are waiting on some things to clear, before we do move. That could be a month or 2 from now, so there is no telling.

That sucks. I feel your pain with buying new furniture though. We are moving end of may and need new furniture so badly.

Yep when we move, we will need bedroom furniture, I was hoping not to have to purchase living room furniture also, but I guess someone else had other things in mind for us.
Good Luck with your move in May

I can relate. On Monday I took my wheelchair in for service. They were supposed to lend me a loaner electric chair so I could get around while they were fixing my chair, which was supposed to take all day. Don't you know that the loaner chair broke ten minutes after they gave it to me. I was stuck in a crappy manual chair all day and couldn't even do the work I had planned to do that day. Sometimes life is a B word. I hope you get your bed fixed.

WOW Sorry to hear that.
Hope your chair is fixed now.
Our bed is fixed, just a rivet came out and we put a bolt in it to fix it.

Good luck to you in your endeavors.. I can sympathize with you.. I wish you luck in fixing the sofa sleeper and in getting a new home.. Although I myself prefer to sleep on the sofa.. The bed seems to cause me more back pain than I can handle, so I usually hit the sofa.. Trouble with that is my puppy can't decide who she wants to sleep with, my husband or myself.. I start off in the bed and it is all 3 of us, hubby, dog and myself, but as the night wears on, I go to the sofa, and usually wake the dog up when I am getting up and here she comes with me.. Need a bigger sofa so the dog can have extra room, because she likes to sleep sideways.. And I wonder why I am so tired all of the time.. Good luck to you

That is so funny our dog is the same way. He wants to stay by me, but goes to see what hubby is up to
Thank you. I am hoping it can be fixed. I really don't want to have to go buy anything right now.

Oh nooooo... that is the worst scenario, my friend. I hope there is nothing really wrong with it. Maybe it just came unscrewed or something.
I wish you luck in finding a new home, and a more sturdy bed to sleep in, my friend. Brightest Blessings.

So sorry to hear about that and I hope that you got it fixed so that you don't have to buy new furniture right now. Isn't it always at the worst times that things break?
My air conditioner compressor on my car just went out and it is $189 to have it fixed. That is with my husband doing the work and us just buying the part. I don't have the money to have it fixed so I am hoping that it doesn't break anything else. I can still drive it with this out as long as I don't need air conditioning.

Hello there my sweet friend. I think that you have a very lovely life. That's simply because that you are able to share your life with your love ones even though you are a bit cash stranded. I think that is something that money can't buy and to have a meaningful life like that and to work hard together from scratch is something priceless. You will definitely look back on this situation and smiling remembering the times that you have shared with your love ones.
Take care and have a nice day. ;)

I'm sorry Icy...It seems when things happen they come in piles of trouble and you have somethings all at once..
Hopefully you can get the sofa fixed and have a pleasant sleep tonight...maybe you can snuggle in a sleeping bag and act like teenagers LOL..
