what does the star above your user name means?

i seen it on almost every one in mylot. What doess it mean? what does it represent and how do you get one? And why do they come in all different colors?

Well after you reach 100 posts you will get a star as well. The colours and the numbers represent the activity of the member; the higher the number the more active is the member. Just keep typing and posting!

hello,
stars represent your mylot reputation the higher the better coz it means you are being appreciated by people whom you responded (you will noticed the rating sign at the bottom of every post and the more plus you get the better)
the numbers is 1-10 so it will be best if you can get 10 the first time.
you will have the star once you reach the 100 post, it's kinda like your reward for doing a great job!

hello shyguy,
to answer all your questions, here it goes.
* SURE you can increased or decreased number of your star, it all depends on how you participate and how others rate you. if you get many plus then you get a highest number (vice versa)
* YES it is a percentage, that is how i understand it you can see the difference by placing your cursor to one's star even if they have the same number on their star the rating will be different (97/100 0r 96/100) that shows you that the highest it can get is 100.
* you can only get a star once you reach a 100 post (participating to somebody else's discussion the FIRST time - as far as i know the other replies dont count and the replies you made on your own discussion nor starting your own discussion. it is SOLELY based on participating the first time (please asked others as i dont want to give you a wrong idea or you can check the FAQ's here in mylot)
* stars are determined by how well others accept your post, sadly some will give you a negative rating and that will affect your post BUT if your post always have quality on it, no matter how hard they try you will still manage to get a decent reputation on your star. BEST response will help you as well to get a higher number. so the more you earn best response the better, just make sure you are giving informative answers and you will be on your way of getting it.
* a star value of 5, as far as i understand it, doesnt stand of having 50/50 rating (+/-), it may be because of your less participation here, people not rating your work, post getting deleted, so many that i, myself, havent figure it out. the best thing to do is just be you and let the star or number takes it place.
* to make it simple, star value is based on how you participate here. the more quality post you make the higher your value is. still, having said that there are some factors that can cause it like your rating going down due to most of the discussion you participated got deleted.
hope that helps you some how, it will be best to read the mylot FAQ again and see it for yourself if my guide is not that clear and my apology is that is the case.
just have fun, star and rating is just a number like your earnings. if you ignore it and just be it you will be surprised one of these days that you have reached it already.
