Inspirational quotes - your favourites?

I have long been a collector of certain quotes. Some, however, do seem to be spouted by pompous intellectuals who seem far detatched from the realities of life and are more preoccupied in preaching than inspiring.
This is more a two-part question really; do you think sites that host collections of quotes simply give space to academic, cliche-ridden spouts of sentences or are they a great place to go when needing a pick-me-up?
And...what are your favourites? Share!

"A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside."
I have so many, but this is one of my personal favorites. It's in my email signature. I think the world needs more smiles:)

My favorite inspirational quote is by Louisa May Alcott. It goes, "Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." I have that on my fridge, so it's the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing at night. It brings intention into each day.

I have two:
All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
Which goes with:
A small determined group can change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.

I think the sites are both. It really just depends on the person using it.
My favorites are both my Gandhi "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." & "As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world...but in being able to remake ourselves."
