Well I keep my door and window screens free of holes they can squeeze into. I am in Minnesota and well you get used to them so I am not as bothered by then as most.

I hate mosquitos. They are rampant where we live - you can not avoid them no matter how hard you try.
I haven't had much success in killing them, other than the occasional shoe or phone book or newspaper method.
I like using OFF's no smell spray - it works very well & keeps them away and it doesn't stink like most of the other ones i've used!

Well, them mosquitoes are very difficult to catch by hand or swat. So what I do is get a paper plate. Coat one side with a thin layer of cooking oil. If you have cream or butter, it works just as well.
Then go to the area where you know the darn mosquitoes are and start swatting. More often than not, you will be able to catch those buggers in mid flight. Due to the oil or butter on the plate, they will be stuck to it.
Reduces the number of mosquitoes almost immediately in the affected areas.
Works great for fruit flies as well.

having frog is great idea, but i wonder how practical it is . i just use a plate (light metal plate is better for it's lightness). put coconut oil at the whole one surface. if mosquitoes come to your reach, just hit them using the oily plate. the will be stuck at the plate.

Whew, mosquitoes are very annoying here too in my city, and we tried a lot of methods to get rid of them but mosuqitoes are mosquitoes...
So for them we just first have some mosquitoes killing coils which create some frog and then we just switch all the lights OFF in our home and just ON the light of our balcony and open all the windows and doors, and then mosquitoes will automatically goes out of our home to balcony's light,,, and this way we get rid of them...
Try this maybe it helps you...

Ya i hate those creepy creatures too. I use good night and all out. Sometimes i burn the whole mat which creates a lot of smoke and the smell helps to get the rid of mosquitoes.

well my dad bought this racket-like thingie that you charge it and it will act like a "mosquito electrocutor", you just wave the racket and you will hear this buzzing sound, followed by a brief light, then you killed a mosquito, hehe. very convenient, no need for fly swatters or following them like crazy with your 2 hands as a "weapon".

what i do to get rid of these mosquitoes is to spray the house when we're going out and by the time everyone is back, i'd have been quite ok.
all water containers are emptied and the aquarium i put some oil in it and prevent mosquitoes from breeding.

Hi youless! I guess I don't like to hire the frogs in killing the mosquitoes as I would be jumping around everytime I see one.I can't think of anything fancier than that except for the house lizards who have already taken residence in our home who are also known to eat mosquitoes. I guess, I am still relying on my old time friend the mosquito spray. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

LOL. Having a frog to kill them. * rolling on the floor laughing *
Well, I’m making friends with lizards. LOL. No, just joking, but there are a lot of lizards outside my house and I just love the way they are around, and catching some mosquitoes. LOL.
But mostly when my bedroom has mosquitoes, I would just need to switch the air conditioner temperature to colder state and then by the next morning, I would find the creature lay down on the floor ... Fainted for being too long inside such a cold temperature area. And when I got it, it’s time to FINISH it! LOL.

I do not have any fancy ways to deal with them but recently someone I can't remember who posted about mosquito relief. They said that they put listerine
in a spray bottle and sprayed it in their general area as well as on themselves and the little critters would no longer bother them. Now not only do I find this alternative cheaper as well as appealing. I feel it is much safer than the bug
spray we are usually forced to use. Being that we must worry about the deadly illness they little buggers are carrying now I will be trying this method they have described this summer. I hope this works because I hate having to spray
myself with the bug spray we have used in the past...Mamablaze!!

I am so lucky. Where I live, there are hardly any mosquitoes, so I never even see them. The only time I've seen them in this region is around standing water like a pond or if someone had a bucket of water that they never emptied out.
When I lived in Michigan, the mosquitoes were terrible and they were huge! I don't know how I was able to stand them. We even wore bug repellent and it didn't work. I don't know how people could stand it in the old times.

Since we live in the third floor of the Apartment... mosquitoes are quite rare... which is a blessing... because like you said... they can be so annoying... but if there is one or two that eventually gets inside the apartment... my husband usually takes care of it... since he hates mosquitoes more than i do...

Back east we had a bunch of mosquitoes. Sure ruined being out after dusk. I used the Off products when we were out. For sitting outside, we used to burn the citronella candles. It seemed to help some. I also got rid of all standing water outside - in the saucers of plants, puddles, anywhere. I changed the water in the birdbath daily. They breed in any amount of water is seems.
