Someone asked me this, and I can't count before I was 5 because my bio parents fought over me (neither of them wanted me) so I was back and forth between them and foster care so much my first 5 yrs, and my mother moved a lot. But from 4.5-21 I lived in the same house- with my foster adopting parents. But from 1998- 2008 I have moved 28 times! Yikes. I am in my second longest stay. It will be 2 years in August!
How bout you?

Phew that is a question that has got me thinking! I think well over 20 times and that includes living in the UK, Australia, Costa Rica, Italy, Spain and finally the Dominican Republic where I am at the moment. I think the longest I stayed in one place was 15 yrs or so. Congratulations on making it two years in the last place. We have just moved 7 months ago.

Hi there, no not military just love travelling and have always had itchy feet. Plus I don't like what the UK is becoming - we are losing our culture and traditions so I just preferred to move on. Mind you when I went to Spain when I was 6 I did come back to the UK saying to my mother that I would prefer to live there rather than the UK. So, I just think it's in my 'genes'....

Moving from one place to another is quite hard, because youre moving everything especially your belongings.
I experienced moving from one place (boarding house) to another started when i got married, we had to rent an apartment to stay with. we experienced to deal with the owner of the apartment, some are very strict to collect the rental fee. but some are very patient too. we moved several times too but the last time we move was our own house which we bought from our friend with a minimal amount. Now, we don't need to pay for the rental anymore. thanks!

Yeah! I love upward moves...like from an apartment to a house. Some of my moves were transitional moves, like moving to a state and staying with family for a month till we found a place, and our stuff was in storage! VERY stressful!

Well, since I have turned eighteen (I'm almost twenty) I have moved three times, which isn't too bad if you think about it. I lived in an apartment in a fourplex for a year, then I lived in a small cabin, then I moved into a studio apartment.

I thought I had moved a lot but it is only 7 times. The longest I have been at one address is 16 years, The shortest is a few months. I have been in my present home for exactly one year this week.
I don't enjoy moving, but I never mind moving to a new place. I lived in London for more than 20 years but I have also lived in several other British cities and towns.

I don't enjoy moving now because I have kids. It makes it more stressful. One of my moves from RI to VA and from VA to MO I only took what I could cram in my car. Makes me sad all the nice stuff I had both times that I just left behind, gave away, etc to move on. I guess its good not to be attached to possessions but its sad too. Maybe being given away when I was younger has something to do with it?
