I'm looking for a completely reliable website that sells digital SLRs for cheap. Have any of you bought a digital SLR online, got a really good deal on it, and know that the website is reliable? I'm getting ready to buy a Canon Rebel XTi and it's pretty expensive, I want to get it as cheap and fast as possible so I can practice using it before my friend gets married in May.

The best place that I have found over the internet is ebay. I know that there are stores online that are specifically for cameras but I have had very good luck with ebay. I have learned though through trial and error, read EVERYTHING BEFORE purchasing. Lol...I bought a digital camera/recorder that was supposed to be 12 MP, yeah maybe more like 1.2 MP. My old digital camera which was only 2 MP took way better quality photos, plus I could enlarge them on the computer without pixelating. The last camera I bought off of ebay has been great! It's only 7.2 MP but it does a good job for no more than I use my camera. I bought it at a great price and the seller was very easy to do business with. I'm not sure if that helps at all, but I have had good transactions through ebay.

Yeah, a lot of companies make cameras with more megapixels and it's really just larger sized photos. Larger sized, but horrible photos. But people want the megapixels.
I'm a firm believer that most people buy way more megapixels than they'll ever use. I've rarely had a need for more than 5 megapixels. And even then, I'm sure that could have printed off a nice poster too.

Personally, I couldn't really tell you. I shop through a site that get's me a percentage of cash back from every purchase though. At the end of the month, they send you the money you received back, via paypal. If your interested, you may message me, I'd be happy to give you the link. I'm not going to post it here though, because I don't want to get in trouble for posting links.

I have purchased all my digital cameras through ebay and used paypal for payment. Consider me a 1005 SATISFIED CUSTOMER. You have to do your research and check out the stores but most high volume stores are good. I have always gotten a good product at a reasonable price

Try searching for CametaCamera. They're in New York and will sell things online too (sometimes through eBay). I bought a camera that I got a great discount on because it had been used for a demonstration and could no longer be sold as new. It worked perfectly for years, I took over 10,000 photos with it. And then some stupid lady knocked it over during a photoshoot and killed it. But if it weren't for that, I'm sure it would still be alive and kicking today.

I would like to suggest amazon.com to you. they have alot of cameras on there and they are name brand cameras that you can buy for low prices. They also have free shipping on some of their items also. I shop there alot and never have any problems.

I usually shop at sigma4less.com I have had wonderful success with them! My orders usually arrive less than a week after I place them! And their prices are absolutely fantastic!! I would highly recommend them!
I would also recommend adorama.com. Their prices aren't as low as Sigma4Less, and they don't ship quite as fast, but they have a much bigger variety of equipment. So if you can't find what you're looking for on another site, chances are you can find it at Adorama.
I've also heard great reviews about Newegg.com. I've never personally bought from them, but everything I've heard about them is fantastic!
You also might want to try tigerdirect.com. While I've never bought camera stuff from them before, I do buy a lot of computer stuff from them!
Good luck!!!

I got my lens from Newegg. I had one slight problem with them. They listed the lens as being available, but two days later, they said they were sold out and backordered. I didn't have to wait too long for it, though. I also use Tiger Direct for computer items and they've always been good to me, but I only get good prices there when they have rebates lined up.

I also bought my 350D on eBay. But, I really had to look around. There was this guy selling several of these cameras and every time I would bid on them, I would be outbid within a day or so. And, the camera would end up selling for more than if I were to have gotten it at Amazon, which I think was the second cheapest place I found. I refuse to pay full price on eBay, so I had a back up item I was watching that didn't have a lens. I ended up getting that camera, only slightly used, and a lens for more than $100 less than retail. It's been a great camera, too. I bought an extended warranty, but I haven't had to use it.

Its already been stated a few times it seems but the cheapest place you are going to find is eBay. Usually they provide some type of warranty as well so if your looking to buy online, there is no reason to go anywhere else. Terrific choice on the camera by the way, the XTi will not dissapoint!
