Because you lost it in the house somewhere, or get someone to ring it for you to locate it?
Well this happened to me today, I just could not find my phone anywhere, I thought, I know I will ring my hubby off the house phone and get him to ring it for me!! Only when I went to phone him the house phone was not working. So I turned the house upside down looking for it, no luck, so just then my son came home and I got him to phone it for me and I found it......
In the back pocket of my jeans, that I was wearing!!!
Silly me, and no I have not got a clue as to how I missed it!!!

I lose my phone all the time. I lost it last night in fact. Someone needs to come up with a device that attaches to your cell phone and connects to either around your wrist like a bracelet or has a belt loop attachment so when you go somewhere guess what so does your phone. Therefore you won't lose it when going out to eat or in the car if you have it attached to you. That's funny that the phone was in the jeans you were wearing. That sounds something like I would do.

If your house phone had been working, you could have just called your phone from it directly, couldn't you?
I've had to do this, have my BF call my cell so I can find it. Usually, though I have left it in my truck, so I can't hear it ring anyway. We don't have a landline, so if my BF isn't home, I'm sort of "up a creek" unless someone decides to call me.
I wish you could call your remote control and keys the same way as the cell phone, I misplace those way more often!

That was what I was hoping to do, except I would not have been able to do that even if the phone was working as I do not actually know my own mobile number!

I have to do this all the time as I set my phone down all over the house. I have even done it once only to find out it was in my sweater pocket I felt so silly.

LOL...I have done that. My son is always on my cellphone. So when he is done with it he just lays it down anywhere. The problem I have I don't have a home phone so I have to wait for my husband to get home to find it.

Yes, that is a bit how I felt when my butt started ringing yesterday, when I had literally turned the house upside down!

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I had taken my car to the shop, and then I rode my bike home. I remember having pulled it out of my fanny pack and couple of times to check messages, so I thought I dropped it in the road somewhere. So, I called it just to see if I did manage to get it back home. Lo and behold, it was in my fanny pack all the time, just hidden in a secret pocket.
I also work in a library and people will lose their phones all the time there. They usually end up calling it and we will answer it so that we can tell them that their phone is there.

I do this at least once a week. I'll be doing something and set down my phone somewhere, then I'll forget where I set it down. After looking in the usual places, I'll grab the house phone and call it. But I have never lost it in my back pocket I must say. I guess that my jeans are too tight for that. If its back there, I feel it.
To make you feel a little better, I do lose my phone in my coat pocket sometimes when I am out. I forget which one I put it in, and then panic when I reach into one and its not there. Can't ring it when I'm outdoors lol.

I know, I do not know how I missed it myself, but never mind it is not the first daft moment that I have had and I doubt it will be the last!!

Ah ah ah. Now isnt that something. In my home we have had to do the same for each other quite often. Sometimes the cells are left on the arm of the settee and end up slpping down and become lodged behind the cushions.
Never had the "in the back of my jeans" experience though. That was funny. (lol)

I have never lost mine but my husband has had to do it a few times.
But the funniest is when I take his phone and send him a text message from himself. So when he tries to return it he gets a second text message. hehehe

YEs, but it wasn't my phone, but my mother's phone.. No wait.. Once I had to o it for my phone as well. MY mum had just returned from somewhere and she panicked that she had lost her phone. The phone had slipped in a small slot in her purse which she didn't know existed. So she had to make a call from my phone and she was so surprised to find it in her own bag. My case, was like this.. I had an Exam and instead of studying, I was playing games on my N Gage[3 yrs ago]. She took it and Hid it. I wanted to find it. I just used her phone and called. It was hidden under the bed, cos I had the head to turn off the vibration mode and set it to ringing mode, just before I gave it to her.

That's a really amusing story thank you for sharing it!
I have had to ring my phone so many time it's unreal; it's weird, I always seem to be checking it, so I have no idea why I lose it all the time.
I'm thinking of getting a great big sticker and just attatching it to myself. That way, it won't end up in the fridge, under the bed, in the car or on the top shelf next to the Cornflakes ever again.

I don't usually lose my phone but my mom does. She would often ask me to ring her phone so that she could find it. It could be anywhere, in the bathroom, in her bag, on the living room table. There were times that the situation became somewhat funny.

That is so funny, that happens to me all the time. I will put the phone down somewhere and start doing other tasks in the home. Then when I need it I can not remember where I set it down at. I would have hubby call it at least one time a day for one week once, and it was always really close to where I was standing.
We do not have a house phone so whenever I lose track of my phone it is all I can do to act sane again.

Lol. this sounds so funny but true. I have to do this all the time. I always forget where i keep my cell as i keep it anywhere. So i always have to call from my landline to findout where it is. Even at work i have the same habit and my colleague's think i am so silly.

I know, people say how on earth can you lose it in a house but it is easily done, I never put mine in the same place all the time and that is when I lose it.

THat is funny, lol, didn't you feel the bump in your jeans? You get days like that. I often forget where my phone is. Yes I have rang from the home phone many times to see where my phone walked to, he he. Most of the time, it was hiding in the couch or the car. Too many things going on in my brain, to remember where my phone is. What is even more annoying is when you go to ring your phone and you battery is flat, then you have to go looking for it.

No I did not!! If I put it in my jeans I normally put it in the front pockets, this time I put it in the back pocket!

Ha you are just like us. Both of us me and my husband, we keep our mobiles somewhere in the house. I generally keep it in the bedroom or in my handbag or in the kitchen. My husband used to keep it right on the table and could not find it even though if it is in front of his eyes. So to find these mobile phones we just ring from our Landline phone and as we have fixed a special ring phone to understand that it is from our landline, we all, including my almost 3 year old son will find it immediatly.
