I have decided to become 100% vegetarian from today. I just happened to visit a place where i saw few people trying to kill a sheep for the lunch and could not take the pain that sheep was going through while dying and i felt very sorry for it and now I have decided to go 100% vegetarian. Have I taken the right step friends, please suggest?

If you feel that it is right to not eat meat, then you have made the right decision. It is very sad that animals suffer in large numbers so that us greedy humans should not have to work too hard for our protein!
I believe that humans are omnivores and that a small amount of meat in our diet is not a bad thing. We seem to have taken the eating of meat to an extreme, however, in our present-day societies. Worship of the 'Big Mac' and the 'Barbecue' are just a tip of the iceberg. It is quite possible for us, however, to live very healthily on vegetable products alone. I would, personally, advise including dairy products in the diet because they supply some things which are otherwise rather difficult (but not impossible) to obtain from other sources. There are arguments, however, which say that even dairy products involve harm to animals - battery chicken farms, for example, and the slightly shaky one that says that a calf must die if we are to have milk (we have bred our cattle to produce more milk than a calf needs, in fact.) It can still be argued that, by farming cattle at all, we are therefore committing ourselves to eating a certain amount of meat.
Certainly a great deal needs to be considered in the humane slaughter of animals for food. It is possible (and very desirable) to kill an animal quickly and virtually painlessly and, whether or not one decides to eat meat, it should be our concern to see any necessary slaughter is always done humanely and with care.

I think that you have taken the right steps. The same thing happened to me just about a month ago,I recently got new neighbours and they slaughtered 4 sheep and skinned them in full view of everyone it was utterly disgusting and most distressing. That evening they sent my family and I some food that they cooked with that same meat, ofcourse we could not eat it as we had all witnessed the suffering that those poor animals had endured.I myself had not eaten any kind of meat ever since.LOL!
