No I think if it really is bad news, you need to speak to the person face to face not via a text message. If it was really serious you would want to be there to comfort them.

I think you should have been more specific about the relationshipt to the person who is to receive the bad news. For instant ,if I think of giving bad news to my best friend ,or my family or even a nice aquintance of course I would never do that by sending a messaje , but rather face to face so I could sustain and give them courage . But if I think of my boss ,or my bad-mannered neighbor , or even of a cold colleague (that obviously doesn't like me )I would rather write them :)))

That is a tough question for me, simply because I do everything by text and I am useless at putting things into words face to face!! I guess it would depend on what the bad news was, if it was really bad news then I would probably phone them, if it was bad, but not that bad it could well be a text.

I think sending text message would not be appropriate if you will deliver a bad news- but I also think that this would be a case to case basis. We can exercise our judgment in all its sense. Like if the news is not really that sensitive, it will be fine, but if it needs a little more explanation, i think face to face communication or a call will do. Sending on overly sensitive text message (bad news) is not a nice thing to do. It is important that we become sensitive enough for the feeling of the receiver especially if it is too personal for them. or if it really pertains them.

Yes. Yes I would. I have in fact. When I used to live alone and I couldn't always make rent I would ususally send a text message when I needed to tell my landlord that he could not cash my rent cheque on the 1st of the month.

Absolutly not. If it was a person I cared about I would have far more respect for them than to insult them with a text message.
I might well send a text saying I wanted to arrange a meeting if that was convenient.
If you have something impoortant to say to a person you care about it should be done face to face.
If there were two things in the worlkd that should be disinvented it would be the mobile phone and the atom bomb, in that order!
