My daughter has been thowing up since Monday and has had severe stomach and back pain. I took her the emergency room night before last, they pumped her IV, and took a few tests, we got home at 2 in the morning, and she was still vomiting everything she tried to eat or drink, took her back to another emergency room last night in a hospital, they took more tests but still didn't come up with anything. This is getting really frustrating, she has not thrown up this morning so hopefully she is getting better.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Aww the poor little darling, mine have both at one point or another ended up in hospital due to sickness was actually suspected meningitus with them but tured out to be nasty infections instead which while bad was not nearly so awful.
Its good she has been seen and hopefully she will either feel a lot better soon or they will find out what is wrong, if its back pain it could be kidneys maybe an infection if its bad it makes them sick, im sure they will know soon.
Last time my daughter ended up there she had a water infection, severe tonsilitus and ear infection and a rotavirus tummy bug ive never seen a small person so sick its heartbreaking so I totally know how you feel the not knowing was the worst part but she is with the best people huni xxx

hi, i've had an experience with a patient with that symptoms too in the ER. Is the back pain really excrutiating? Is it back or flank pain? coz the patient i saw was really in pain and was vomitting really bad and it was because of her kidneys.. she had kidney stonesor her tubules were swelling because of infection..

After another night in the emergency room they finally gave her an upper GI, it turns out she has gastroparasis. I am actually quite scared, but the doctor says in kids it can usually be corrected. Basically her stomach has decided it does not want to work, the doctor describes as the stomach is tired. She has medicine that will hopefully get the stomach going again.

hi it sounds like her stomach has quit working for
awhile. iused to be a nurses aid and we had several
kids that came in with the same symptoms. i heard
one doctor say that this often happens in young
kids and the stomach sort of tires out. They called
it gastroparesis. this also happens to adults who
are in poor control of their blood sugar. I hope your
will be feeling much better soon.
