The Internet versus television ... the fight continues!

For the longest time now I have been addicted to the Internet. There are just too many things to do with it to bother naming just a few, besides if you are reading this you have the Internet and pretty much know about its uses. Our newspapers radio's and televisions have always been good sources to get information stories news entertainment etc. But lately the Internet has been booming with the myriad of things one can do with it .. including get the news listen to the radio and even watch television. Personally I don;t have a radio I was never into reading the newspaper, but I used to watch tv all the time. Now I honestly don't think I would care if I had to go without my television or cable/satellite. As I almost never watch it anymore, and tend to just watch the same old stuff when I do. What about you could you go without your television, if you had to choose between having the Internet or having television, which would you choose? what are your reasons for choosing that particular one?

I barely ever use my tv, I mean I watch it every now and then, but I mainly use it to watch movies that i've bought on dvd. if I didn't have a tv it wouldn't really bother me I don't think. But my internet, now that's another thing altogether ! I couldn't live without it. Like i've said before in a post similar to this one... most of my friends and family I talk to, we communicate through the internet, so without internet, I would have no way of keeping in touch with loved ones

The internet. The tv has no way to reach out and talk to me, lol. There's no real interaction. I can't search for endless information. I hardly ever watch tv now. Most things on tv can be found online anyway.

For me, it would definately be the Internet. I could live without a TV if I had too. I would still be able to watch a lot of the shows if I wanted too via online, and catch the News from all of the stuff online like I do anyways. And you cannot talk back with your TV like you can online either... and does your TV pay you for watching it? If it does, most of us are missing out.
So now you know where I spend most of my waking moments unless I am somewhere else I need to be like work, Church, a Doctors apt., etc. For me having access to the Internet is my life.

I have certain shows I watch on tv that I love to watch.Also I watch a lot of movies on tv.In the end though I would keep my internet because I love to get on here and write.Everything you can watch on tv you can find somewhere in computer land to watch.So I got to have the internet.

I prefer to use internet . I can do many stuffs with my laptop than television .

I like both for different reasons, the tv, means I can just veg out and watch, I don't have to do anything, but the internet is interactive, I do things, people respond, it and I get all that I can get on the tv and more.
No I could not live without my internet, but if I really had to I could live without tv, though I am sure I would miss it.

I hardly ever watch tv anymore either. I love the internet and it has everything that I need on here. I love to earn online daily also.

Hands down it would be the internet I would choose. There are so many places to go here on the internet to find out any information you want. You can send your friends emails and they go out right away and are received on the other end immediately. You can send egreeting cards. You can make money from the internet. You can meet friends and talk to them on the internet. And my son sent me a site that I can watch free television. So what more could a person want. You also can listen to music on the internet. A television is just that and no more. I don't watch much television now and I wouldn't miss it if there wasn't a television in the house. My husband on the other hand would miss it sorely.

Hi Esoteric.
I'd pick the internet over tv any day.The internet has such a broad base of information that it never bores you. You can have acsess to so much more information than you could ever get from television. But hey i would say that seeing that i'm an internet junkie
