Degenerative Disk Disease

I have been in pain for about four years now. I have been addicted to pain pills for two years. They don't really help, but I can't stop taking them.
I work full time, and I worry about what will happen when I can no longer work. I have no family to help me.
I don't have any fun any more. It's just constant pain, and it's so bad. It's almost impossible to even work, but I have no choice.
I have degenerative disk disease, and it's in my neck. Between my c5-c6-c7 disks. It is so bad.
I wish my doctor would help me better. I always feel like a drug addict, and the laws are so restrictive.
I'm not asking for anything. Just does anyone else share this kind of experience?

So very sorry about your pain. Also are you sure you are not just dependent. There is a difference between dependence and addiction. Take care.

Hello, I just want to let you know that I have experienced similar chronic pain for many years. It is something that alot of people really don't understand, although many are well meaning.
I would first suggest that you look for another doctor. Remember you have the control of making decisions about your health. Try to find one that will first treat you as a human being, who will listen and who is willing to answer your questions. It would help if you find one is who willing to work with other health care providers. I don't know what kind of medical insurance that you have but you might want to see if it will pay for alternative medicine. You must be willing to try other options to try and find something that works for you. Anyway, hope that this will help a little.
