Well it's about time we explore alternate source of energy for power, so here I start with a discussion on-Can we run an airconditioner on solar power? I am not a technical person but someone very curious about whether this can be possible and if not, the reasons why? So welcome guys, I know a lot of you out there are many times more qualified including some geniuses. Give me your inputs, tell me what are the possibilities.

I'm no genius either, but you can run an air conditioner on solar power. Since the summer months are the sunniest, the air conditioner works with a cell battery. The sun shines and the solar energy is created and harnessed within the cell. That cell gives the air conditioner its energy, like all cells they need to be charged so its connected by DC power. They cost about $3,700 dollars. The only problem is the cost offsetting the units BTU's. If you don't have enough sun it will have to run on electricity. Solar power is a growing field, I personally don't think it will ever be a widespread acceptance, some people don't want to have to buy into solar power, its expensive. But some companies may be forced to phase out current electricity needs.
