And then I fell over - a sign?

One of my closest friends last week suggested a lovely walk as the sun was shining and the clouds (which had been raining constantly for three days) have parted.
We settled on getting some cheap bread from the supermarket and walking from her place to a gorgeous park to enjoy the surroundings and enjoy a spot of inner-childness by feeding the quacking ducks.
On the way, we went past a beautiful church. Neither of us a religious but we can always appreciate amazing architechture and love the atmosphere of churches - they always seem to radiate peace and tranquility.
However. I went to the pew bit at the top, and, cutting a long story short, managed to mis-judge a few steps, fall quite badly and twist my ankle underneath me.
At first I stated I could manage and I would just walk the pain off - only to faint when I tried to put any weight on it. I came round, turned green, and my friend called an ambulance. In Accident and Emergency, they took an x-ray and informed me I had torn a ligament or two, and sent me home with crutches. Thankfully it's healing really well, and I can hobble about!
Now, to get to the point...having much time on my own the past few days, I have reflected on this quite a lot, and now wonder if falling over in a church was some sort of sign.
Am I going too fast through life? Do I take my health for granted? Or was it just a rather unfortunate place to fall over? I'd appreciate any thoughts!

Well, I know how my religious friends would respond to this...they would say that Satan got worried about you being in a church and sent some misfortune your way to try to scare you. The theory being that you would blame God for what happened and turn even more away from Him which would put you back in Satan's clutches *since we all know that unless you follow God closely you're damned to Hell *
From a not so religious (or harsh) view point, I would say it probably was just a misfortunate place to fall but could be a sign to slow down and pay more attention to what's going on around you.
I hope you continue to recover so you can get back to enjoying long walks...just be more carreful if you decide to explore that church again!

LOL that is pretty harsh, but a very interesting viewpoint!
But I do agree with you, not being massively religious but then again I'm very much into fate and signs, I think I will slow down a little...I don't always need to be in such a rush in life.
Thanks for the good wishes, I can't wait to get back to walking!
