Cyberbullying and Cyberstalking

I've been hearing quite a bit about these two subjects lately and wondered if anyone here has been cyberbullied or cyberstalked? If so, what did you do about it and what action was taken? Also, have you ever bullied or stalked anyone on the internet? Why?

The very reason why I leave mylot and went to other site. If you haven't seen any star with me, that's the product of cyberbullying. Those filthy tags thrown on me that even a dog can't stomach makes this site looks very ugly to many. I simply can't understand that during that time, I was the victim yet being the one to be slashed by a star. At any rate, I think it's a blessing in disguise because i earned so many friends here and there, and that I don't have to bother a star changing it's colors and a reputation who is consistently going down everyday.

It seems that apparently, my friends & I, including the friend that alerted me to all of the degrading tags that were added to her discussions, lost this battle, & the trolls won in this case. She also had a friend who was also facing the same problems with most likely the same trolls. If only I could remmember who he was, I would like to look in on him.

I was wondering why you didn't have any star. I thought it might have had to do with you being gone for so long. I didn't know that someone could go below a "1". I never pay attention to the star most of the time.

On another site, I will not even mention the name, I was trashed a lot. I mean to the point of hiring an attny. to get the site closed down. The "owners" of the site got very upset when I called them out on some info they were posting. The owners than posted my personnal info, my full name, my address, my phone #, etc. They proceded to "invite" other members of the site to "do whatever needed to be done" to stop me from stopping the site. I got hatemail, as in snail mail, I had my home vandalized, my car tires slashed, my children harassed...(the owners posted my childrens email addys, which the found thru yet another site) So, yes, I have had the horrible experience of "cyper threats" and bullying...

I am thinking the site should be named (perhaps as well as the owners) so that they can find out what payback is. It will also help in making what comes around to go around.

Oh, wow! That's incredible! I can't imagine what site that was, but I hope someone has (or will) go to jail for that.

someone has, and some others will. No, the site is still up, but, hopefully the owners have changed their policy as far as public/private info. We shall see. Good subject though.

I have seen it happen right here on MyLot, & even called in friends to help me put a stop to it. The only thing is that I went from a blue star to a red one, but it has happened to various friends, & those who are SUPPOSED to be running MyLot has proven to be reliably unreliable. I would not be surprised if they are either the ones doing it, or having someone or someones do it - just to get rid of the good quality members - just so they don't have to pay them. Their ban the victim policy? Applied when the intended person doesn't quit very easily. Uh - Conspiracy

I agree. It's either people having fun at the expense of our high star ratings, someone's experiment in which we're the guinea pigs, or ... some way to prove crash the piggie a liar. Crash claimed that if people did go onto a minusing spree, it does get corrected. In this case, it's still wrong, & therefore, making a lying pig out of Crash.

I think it's probably someone and their friends having a little fun at everyone's expense. Or they are doing it to see if they have an effect on this site.

i have heard horrible stories of children and teenagers that are put through the psychological trauma of cyberbullying. those who inflict such bullying much be held responsible and punished. it is unfair that these victims pay, and the pain-inflictors are let off the hook

Yeah, people think they can get away with it because the are "anonymous". But, I'm hearing more and more stories about people being able to find out one's identity and tracking them down. I don't know how they do it, but they can. I think it might have to do with police search warrants and their computer IP addresses.

yeah i think it has to do with tracking the ip address to find out who the offender is.

Oh wow, don't you hate it when guys are like that? That's when it would be good that have that "ignore" button.

That's where the ! button comes in handy. It's one thing if they were good friends that you knew online, & it was just fun & games. It's another thing when it's unwanted.
