I'm considering donating eggs. I have four healthy children myself and I would like to contribute to another couple's joy of becomming parents. Is it wrong? I've been getting some mixed opinions. Please let me know what you think.

No! i personally believe that it is not unethical by all means; because you are only trying to help your fellow human concieve something which every human wants. I believe anything which bring around happyness cannot be unethical.

Thank you. Imagine if you were the couple who couldn't conceive children wouldn't you want someone to help. I couldn't imagine life without my children.

I being a person who believes in "The Will of God" above Science and Technology.. Thus I feel if God wanted that couple to experience the Joy of being parents then, they wouldnt be issueless.. "Donating Eggs" is like contradicting the Will of God according to me..

SO if someone can't have children then they should suffer because of your opinion? Does that make YOU God then?

I wouldnt like to play God.. But dont u thing God can do miracles ? Do u think he's the Almighty ? Then why do we interfere in his stuff ? huh ? If u dont believe then its fair enough else......................Think!

Well if you believe in God then surely you believe that it is up to him and and him only to pass judgement. You shouldn't pass judgement and tell people that they are wrong. It is not your place. Also, maybe if God gave us the brains to be able to mess around with science, they maybe it was his intention for us to do so? What do you think?

I personaly do not think it is wrong. There are many famiies out there that want children very badly. I have often considered being a seroget mother once I have a child of my own. I think you would be doing a very nice unselfish thing and if you want to do it go for it.

Hi there BVBF25. Firstly i wouldn't worry about people think. I think you are doing a great and wonderful thing if you decide this is what you want to do. You will be helping alot of couples out there, that without your help and many others wouldn't be able to hold a baby of their own. I myself was with someone who couldn't have children and thought that i would never have a child of my own, but i did and not with him lol. But seriously, it is a great thing to help out someone who is in so desperate need of a child of their own. You are a wonderful person and don't let other people put you down for doing something so wonderful as this. :)

Thank you for your encouragement! I would love to give something that I have no use for that could change the lives of others for the better.

I think being an egg donor is a very unselfish act. I also believe that adoption is a very unselfish action too. My only thing is will any babies that are born be a part of you (ie, will it be genetically a part of you) or will [they] use only their genes. This is a very complicated issue but in the end it is YOUR decision and no one else's. Good luck in making a decision.

Personally I don't know if I could manage not to get emotionally attached to a biological child of mine, even if he or she had been gestated by someone else. I think you would be doing something very courageous to help people who can't have children.

I don't think it's unethical at all! I think you are helping those who unfortunately can't be blessed on their own. Do what YOU think is right and not what others think is right.

I think it is a wonderful idea! Forget what the first posts were saying about God. He is a God of life, and I believe He is pleased with this technology. Personally, I don't know if I could handle it emotionally, but if you and your family are comfortable, I say go for it!

Oh, i think if your children don't refuse, then you can do it. but you should make sure that they will treat him/her well. and i think if you want to do this, then the child is the smaller the better.
