Dog "Chewing" Crisis!

Well I'm just about fed up with the chewing of slippers, pillows, blankets, clothing, wires but this morning when I woke up it just took the cake!! When I was getting out of bed looking for a wad of money where I have placed it last night or rather early in the morning like around 2:00 am I noticed it missing so I looked around and kept wondering where could it have gone? and wondering if anyone else in the house could have taken it, By the time I've done a turn-around of the room it finally dawned on me to have a look under the bed...Low and Behold!! The wad of cash now appears flattened, ripped into pieces, small parts as if there were chewing going on. I don't know what to do anymore...This dog chews up everything in site, I really don't know how she got a hold of the money, and we don't always have her on the leash so she basically runs free around the house. I'm guessing too that there is NOTHING I can do about the torn up money so all that is a waste and spare me the criticism (if there's thoughts of any) please I am already kicking myself of the wrong I did. But if anyone has any suggestion I would appreciate it.

We had a puppy before, he chew and bite everything! Our bedsheet, shoes, socks, balls and other things... he even chew his plastic toy... My aunt can't take it anymore so she gave it to my uncle. lolz. Last time we heard, that dog stopped chewing things.. my uncle taught him, he is really good at dogs and animals that's why we give it to him. Thank goodness our dogs don't chew no more.

I, too, have a chewer but she hasn't had the appetite for money! At least not yet. I really don't have any advice. I'm still trying to work with mine. She has lots of toys, some she will chew on all day, but she will always find something else that looks appealing. Lately it's been my the trashcan in my bathroom. She'll even jump up in my chair and take things off my desk. Someone already suggested what I do now - tell her no and give her a toy to chew on instead. She really loves the nylabone. It's been one of the few toys that has lasted and keeps her interest for a long time.

Let's hope that she doesn't ever have the appetite for money lol I haven't gone through picking up trashcans yet but she still finds any other object.

You might try taking the money to the bank; they may be able to identify enough of it to replace it. Or at least some of it, that would be better than nothing! Some dogs are just chewers, especially labs and other retreivers. My friend's lab is bad about chewing on her clothes. She buys him hard rubber toys and he even shreds them into little pieces! She keeps him kenneled when she is not able to supervise him. Make sure he has plenty of his own toys and when you catch him chewing on anything that's not his, reprimand him and give him his own toy, and praise him when he chews on it. This MAY help! Otherwise, sounds like obedience training may be needed.

I don't think my dog takes interest in the toys lol we've tried with no accomplishment. Maybe we need to try something else..and about the money I'm hoping that I will be able to do something about it.
