I am trying out virtualization. Is there anyone here who has done that? I have tried VirtualBox which is cool because it is free but I ran into some problems. I am now trying vmware Workstation which allows you to evaluate for free for 30 days. Any thoughts?

Yea Virtualization is pretty tight! I used to use the Windows Version, and it was so cool to open up a box with Linux OS, while having Xp in the background.

I guess virtualization is here to stay. This makes sense as computers become more and more powerful and memory costs keep going down. I have reduced the number of computers that I have and plan to get another on with bigger memory capacity and maybe that would be the last computer I buy.

First off, Firefox would hang repeatedly when run on Ubuntu Desktop (Gutsy)
Secondly, Ubuntu Server 9Gutsy) would not install (PAE problem). There is a workaround which is to remove the kernel and install linux-generic. I do not want to go through all that trouble for something which is clearly being fixed.
Thirdly, Virtualbox appears slower than vmware.
