What makes a friend?

Just curious what you think the meaning of a true friend is? Do they coddle you and protect you from the world, do they tell you the truth nobody else will? Do friends ignore each other when there are problems? What to you is the meaning of a true friend?

Your friend will always be honest with you, they will not lie and tell you what you want to hear just because you want to hear it. They will support you when you need support and kick you in the butt when you need it to. They won't judge you but always look out for your best interest. They will not try to live your life for you, but they will not allow you to head down the road of self destruction either, they will be the voice of reason when you are confused, a shoulder to cry on when you need a little hug, and love you no matter how much you make a fool of yourself.

If you're looking for a true friend, then I think that friend should be ready to give his life for his friends. Nobody did that, only Jesus Christ. He gave His all so that we might have the chance to be with Him in glory1 Good day.

I know, if only more people were jesus like....because it gets lonely with him as your only friend sometimes.
