As the subject says: Should there be a limit to studying; in other words, do you think there should be a limit to the number of hours one can sit in front of a book and read, read, and read ?
It is true that one can achieve good grades, test scores, etc., but is it still worth it?
If one studies for very long time, one may lost interest in other things like extracurricular activities and games...Things that are essential for proper mental and physical developement!

Hi welcome to MyLot. There definitely is. everyone should take care on their threshold when studying. The brain works in funny ways. I have friends who lost their mind because they dont limit their studying time and going over the top.

There should be a limit from studying you should rest your brain performance coz you need that you are not a robot that can be easily recharge and keeps you going.. take a rest and you need that coz the more you tiring your brains the more tis difficult for you to remember

I think there should be a limit. It's good to study but what is important is how you study. If you use the right technique to study, you won't have to spend alot of time on the same subject. When a person spends to much time on studying, he/ she will not have alot of social relationship and it could be a problem later on. The person will be used to be alone and won't like crowded places and parties. That person will have a hard time working unless you are going into a laboratory mixing chemicals. I study alot because my finals are this cmoing week so i can't lack out. But at some moment, I take a break for 30 min to eat a snack and talk to my bf or watch my show on tv. There should be a balance between leisure and school work as well. Playing to games for too long could be bad as well. In a day you got 24h. need 8h to sleep, 1h hours to shower in morning, eat, and prepare the stuff for school, 1h of traveling for the bus, 4-5h attending to classes, 1h of traject to come back, eat supper so we only have 5 to 6 hours to study so we have to use it carefully.

There should never be a limit to studying.
Reason: there is not a limit to what you can study!!
and if it is one subject that you are refering to, the answer is also no! the min you learn something new, something else has become available for you to study.

Sometimes, I think you can swat too much. You get to a point where you can no longer soak up the knowledge and your mind goes blank, so I wouldn't overdo it. I don't think reading a book over and over will make your grades any better. When I read a novel, I can recall it for ages afterwards. You just need to concentrate on what you're reading and take a real interest in it.
Brightest Blessings.

it really depends on you. there are some people who can sit and study continuously for five hours while there are people who only have an attention span of one hour. for me, it should always be quality not quantity. Even if i study for 5 hours i cant absorb all of it. its better to study for about an hour and be able to have a retention of all of it. the key here is to know what you can do in order to study better. of course, all play and no rest makes a person really dull.

Well,it totoally depends on youself,my dear!
I used to be a college student, and spent much time on my study since I wanted to get a decent job after graduation.
And,I also made some time on my "enjoy life" part.and this social part is quite important actually, you know, you can learn how to get along with people, how to communicate with others, and how to make compromise...
So,it's sort of a private problem, and one may be good with both his study and social life!
