House is where the the member's of the family leave. From the father to the youngest member. It's a shelter that keep us warm and protect us from rain, hot and other calamities. Give us security every night.
Home is with a complete and happy family who shared and stick thru thick and thin. With life and happiness all over it. Eating, praying and sleeping together. That every morning you wake up there's a smile and greetings that make you motivate to go for the day. Give you strength to face of all obstacles you have. Someone who kiss and hug you.
How you describe your house? can you call it as your home?

Hmmm Yes i would call our house a home. Its also chaotic, loud, sometimes fun, sometimes stressful, but we all love eachother more than anything. My kids, although young, know that if they get in trouble, we still love them. They know that if we yell, its to help them become good human beings. My husband and I have our differences as well, but at the end of the day, it all works out.

I think that my apartment that I share with my son is a home, its our home anyway. i feel comfortable in it and its a haven from the cares of the outside world and my familyis small it is a family. Myson is here for me whenever Ihave a problem and I am always here for him. My son being a male is not the mushy type but anything goes wrong for me he is there to help out so deeds also show love.

i'm living in an apartment now and no family member living with me. so definitely not a home. I used to live with my sister before but still, it was an apartment. The only place I call home is our ancestral or the old house we have back home. It's where everybody (siblings) spent sometime of their childhood. It's where my parents are living right now.
It's really good to be home especially when everybody's there having meals together.

Hi ozzeth! I guess, my house is sometimes a house and most of the times a home. is that confusing? LOL! I guess, I call it a home when my husband and I are really in tune with everything and it just becomes a house when we have some disagreements. But I do think that most of the times, it is a home where we both love to stay and just be together. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

Yes my house is a home definitely. Its the place where my family lives , where we fight, argue, reason, snap, love, enjoy, freak.....and do all that takes to ensure that the warmth of love and affection is there very much.
Thanks for a very sweet, lovable discussion.

I live in a home not in house. House consists of only walls and doors and no human being's presence is felt in the house. While, a home is a place, which is bubbling all the time, with the activities of kids, family members and near and dear ones. I once read a story, wherein a stay of guest in a house was described, I can still recall that interesting lines, the writer wrote in the story for his guest - that fellow made his home in my house. Even if stay in Palace, if there are no family members, it would not qualify as 'home'. And you would have heard - 'East or West, home is the best'.

I have a home. The people that come into my home feel very comfortable right away. There is only my husband and I at home now but the feeling of love in the house is tangable. My grandkids love to come to my home. They know that they are welcome with open arms. That we love them coming over and enjoying our home. I think what makes a house a home is the love that lives in it. That the members know that they can be themselves in the confinds of the home and never get put down for it. I love my home and it is a very comfortable place to be at.

This house is just that...a house. Nothing more, nothing less. I have had a rough evening because of it, beyond the normal daily amount of stress. I long for a home. I would sacrifice so much to have a home. Whoever is in charge of Karma needs to go check their records because I am quite sure I have not done anything to deserve everything I have dealt with for the past...oh I don't know, I've lost track of how many years it's been since things were good.

yep, i believe that i could call my house a home. it is my home away from home actually. i love this little apartment that i'm living in now, and it's small, comfy, and just perfect for one or two people. i've lived here now for little over a year now. and i love it everyday that i wake up in it. LOL i plan to stay here for a long time, unless if something happens where i'd have to move out though. which, i hope not. knock on wood.

The house I live in now, I can call home.
But not every house I've lived could I call home.
Nor every home I've had could be called a house.
Home to me is a place of security and serenity.
A place I share my life with my family,
and they share theirs with me.
A house is just a conveinetly oraganized pile of sticks
that surrounds misplaced or well organized belongings.
This house is always a mess,
but somehow we survive.
The bills are never caught up,
but we do not live in need.
We can always dream of bigger and better,
but we have never been happier.
Everyone is not always at home,
But no one is ever lonely.
Everyone does not always get along,
But each of us know we are loved.
Yes, fianlly
I can call the house I live in a home.

I call it a home because I have my beloved family with me there. I've got siblings and cousins whom I love dearly and love me as well. Everytime I am not home, they would always wait for me like I have been gone for a year or so... lolz. So, I call it HOME... it is blessed and loved!

quote:
"A home is not a mere transient shelter: its essence lies in the personalities of the people who live in it"
I guess i have this house and at the same a home...A house because we have our own house that made of concrete and woods...a home because we the people who live in the house have a harmonious relationship...We love and care each other..I have very loving and caring parents and siblings...I know that there were times that we have fight but we won't let that fight long until tomorrow..we fix it before the day ends up...i am lucky enough to have a home like this...thanks for this discussion
