why do you insert flash drives with viruses? I would thing that this auto run is your first defense against a virus if its on a flash drive?

well.. the quickest and easiest solution i have for that is editing autorun.inf in your flash drive. remove everything in the autorun.inf and save it. it'll still run, but will no longer execute anything. c',)

This is a very good question. I was at my friends house yesterday formatted his pc because it had viruses but some of his drivers were in my flash memory and the virus had also come into my flash memory too. They only way to prevent the autorun is that you shutdown the computer, insert the flash disk and switch the pc ON, since it is already attached windows will not autorun it. But there is not way that you can disable your autorun of the flash memory, although disabling autorun of cd-rom is possible.
